Lawyers in PakistanJust saw on the news this morning that lawyers in Pakistan are being
rounded up and shipped off to jail for protesting. What's gives?

Dear MommaLaw,
Well, at least the war on the enviornment is going well.
Seems
that Musharraf is taking a leaf out of the Bush-Cheney book and is imposing
his own dictatorial regime upon the people of Pakistan. The Constitution
has been suspended (sound familiar?), the courts have been overturned (oh,
it's coming), and the president has asserted that he is the law (yeah
for fascism!) American lawyers take note - your up next.
Why? That same ol' lame ol' rationale: The War on Terror. Says
Bush-Musharraf and all the other imperial dictators, "Be afraid, be muy,
muy afraid. The Boogey Man and World War III are coming to get you!"
So surrender your freedoms, give us your money, and let us kill you
to save you.
Makes sense, right?
