This man is stupid. He knows absolutely nothing about law. His only care and concern is money and lying about ways to get more money out of clients. Look at his comment, about pressing charges and bar complaints, go ahead stupid, try and see if you can do it.... what section of the code of ethics are you reading from? I abide by the first amendment, power of speech and you cannot stop us from saying what we think. Have you ever heard of the Constitution? This firm is the absolute worst place to work. this man has affiliations to snakeheads and was formely associated with an attorney who was disbarred and is currently in jail along with his wife by the name of Robert Porges, just google him you ll read about the type of scheme which Charles Christophe creates in his law firm. HE is EVIL. Everyone hates him. You will hate yourself for taking that job. think twice, no matter how desperate you may be, do doc review, wait patiently for something else. people never stay there more than 1 yr get theyr experience and then run screaming their heads off. The only two peoplel who have been there for more than one year is him and his enabler/ chinese contact man Andy Zou. These two are going down, and the downfall is imminent. Charley is probably shitting his pants right about now... If you re reading this, Charley, see you at your indictment... I know I'll be testifying. I left that job over a year ago and it was the best decision I ever made.

Hi all,I'm a new member and a legal headhunter based in London. I really just wanted to see what you NY guys think about the huge glut of roles that are coming up in the Middle East?I spend most of my time recruiting London and European lawyers for these roles but am also considering widening this to include NY. I've a fair bit of experience over your way, I was with a firm that rhymes with Bladden Farps for quite a few years...Any thoughts would be very welcome.Cheers.

I have recently relocated to Boston and have one year of experience in corporate/securities. Currently, there seems to be very little in Boston for an associate with only a year of experience. Anyone know of any potential positions or have any advice/ideas about where to look and how to approach law firms?Prefer large firm.

They all look for top grades, just some of the NYC firms don't immediately write you off if you aren't in the top 10%.I would bolster your resume by getting on the law journal and/or clinic experience if your school has a clinic. Those 2 things seem to help offset a lower GPA.

So I'm a 2nd year student with a 3.0 gpa (which is pretty much the average at McGill University, Montreal, Canada) with a business background, lots of traveling experience, pretty well-rounded and involved in a lot of extracurricular activities. Do you think I have a chance at getting interviews/jobs at a NYC law firm? I heard that Hughes Hubbard, Dewey Lebouf, and Pillsbury don't look just for top grades. Is it true? Thanks!

A quote from Lewis Black:When from behind me, a woman of 25 uttered the dumbest thing I'd ever heard in my life ... She said, 'If it weren’t for my horse, I wouldn’t have spent that year in college.' I'll repeat that. I'll repeat that because that's the kind of sentence that when you hear it, your brain comes to a screeching halt. And the left hand side of the brain looks at the right hand side and goes, 'It's dark in here, and we may die.' She said, 'If it weren't for my horse...' as in, giddy up, giddy up, let's go - 'I wouldn't have spent that year in college,' a degree-granting institution. Don't! Don't think about that sentence for more than three minutes, or blood'll shoot out your nose. The American medical profession doesn't know why we get an aneurysm. It's when a blood vessel bursts in our head for no apparent reason. There's a reason. You're at the mall one day, and somebody over there says the dumbest thing you've ever heard and it goes in your ear. So you turn around to see if your friends heard it, cause if your friends heard it, and you can talk about what the jackass said, then it'll be gone. But your friends are over here, pretending they're gonna buy a cellular phone, and they're not gonna buy a cellular phone, because they don't even understand how the rate structure works. So you turn back, to find the person who said it, because if you can ask 'em a question like, 'WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKIN' ABOUT?!' then it'll go away. But they're gone. And now those words are in your head. And those words don't go away. Cause the way I see it, 7% of our brains functions all the time, because 99% of everything that happens is the same old stuff. We get it. All right. Move on. Get it. Right. But every so often, somethin' like that happens: 'If it weren't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college.' So your brain goes, 'LET'S FIGURE IT OUT! Son of a bitch! I wonder what that's about!' I wonder, was she riding the horse to school? No, she wouldn't be riding the horse to school. Maybe it was a polo pony; she had a polo pony scholarship. Maybe she sold the horse and that's how she - she was betting on the horse! WHAT THE FUCK?!! And then you realize that anybody who went to college would never say anything that stupid in public. And as soon as you have that thought, your eyes close and the next morning they find you dead in your bathroom.

Working for this company is the worst decision one can make in their career. The manager Charles Christophe has to be either retarded or just plays the part. Often while I worked there I was asked to stay long hours of overtime which he never paid me for. Furthermore he expected it and when I didnt comply I was shown the door. Every lawyer there has little experience due to fact that most of them are college graduates and are just trying to get started somewhere. As for the fact of his " Client Manager" ( his American name is ANDY, he is also known by a chinesse name) all is true that he is linked with Chinesse smuggling of illegal aliens. Maybe someone should send a letter to Homeland Security for proper investigations of his privious assian clients. Employess are opressed and tired of Charles-Andy gang but the ones that cant get another job immediately stay there for a few months. DONT GO THERE! STAY AWAY FROM THIS NIGHTMARE JOB ENVIROMENT

I would not waste my time responding to nonsense written by my former/current employee. However, these accusations may force me to file a bar complaint and/or a legal action against the above individuals. I know the individual who wrote the postings. It is true that their employment lasted less than 8 months due to their lack of competency and/or knowledge as newly admitted attorneys. It is true that failing to file a brief/motion on time, or sending Motion to Change Venue 5 times after being rejected each time speaks for itself (lack of familiarity with court rules, lack of knowledge to do legal research, nelgligenty or misleading submission of legal product to the courts, etc.). That might be a cause of jeopardizing your newly issued attorney license. The firm is highly regarded because of its legal practice and reputation by the immigration and federal courts, DHS, DOL, US embassies and consulates, and various government agencies. Read federal court decisions about our arguments in almost all federal circuits. Our incoming business is from existing clients, their relatives, friends and other law firms. We represent nationals and companies from all over the world. The average employee stays with the firm about 3-4 years. All employees are with college, master or other advanced degrees. There is no such position as “client manager” in the firm. Furthermore, all other insults show a hate of a desperate individual not satisfied with the life. Offered salary and benefits are well known at the time of acceptance of the offer. Another note about my spouse who I lost on 9/11. I spent one month to look for her until I was notified that they found her body. I was a single father with an 11 month baby in my hands on September 11. I had no job and struggled to survive with my child and my practice. I worked and I have been working 12 hours a day ever since. I remarried about 2 years after September 11, 2001, because it was very hard to be a single parent.

Oh, I'd say the slow response is very characteristic. The board activity since I've been on here has always been in spurts. It seems to coralate w/ the updating of the site by the judge. The Judge and/or his proxy solsen hasn't updated the site in quite sometime (i.e. the survey inlcuding Edwards and Romney that's been up for months), therefore the board activity drops accordingly. As for your question on old USSC cases, you could try http://www.findlaw.com/casecode/supreme.html. It claims to have a searchable database of USSC opinions back to 1893.

Free, no. Cheaper than Westlaw and Lexis, try LoisLaw (loislaw.com). When I went to paralegal school prior to going to law school, they had given us access for free to LoisLaw. Its not the greatest, but it served its purpose.

This has brought about certain changes in the lifestyle, standard of living and hence expectations of the residents of these cities. These are transformational changes and have their own pros and cons.Read more at http://www.bananaoutsourcing.in/destinationnext.htm Best Regards,Team Banana Outsourcing

This isn't the right website for you. This site is for legal professionals to discuss matters, not a site for laypeople to seek free legal advice.I suggest you contact an attorney in your area (just look in the yellow pages, there's hundreds I'm sure). Many provide free initial consultations,

Hi, First time here so please help.... VERY MUCH NEEDED. Ok, I bought a car recently and everything seemed fine. I like this car and I take pride in it. It is a hyndai tiburon '99 : 2 door hatch back 4 cylinder. But i bought the car, and there was a few things needed to be done that i asked the dealer to fix if it was able to. He said ok and grabbed the "WE OWE" paper and wrote some things down. Touch up Paint chips and scratches (as a main one that im here for) is something that I'm concerned with. I took my car into there shop and left it there for 2 weeks.... (LONG TIME for some small things that needed to be done easily could have been done in a day or two max) but 2 weeks later after putting it in i came back to get my car. I noticed some things were out of the normal since i brought it in. *paint chips still there with scratches and Heater Nob(the one with hot and cold) would not go to hot. so i told them about it and they said ok we will have it back shortly. *another week later* i finally get in again for my car. Paint still not fixed and now they have pry marks on the dimmer switch panel and chips in its paint, the Upper and Lower counsel do not meet right and line up. And im disappointed VERY. So i went into the place and talked to M. Seeley (bought the car from Seeley/Wright KIA dealership) but M.Seeley let me talk to his manager. As he came into the room he stated his exact words "I don't know what you want from us, we've went above and beyond with new tires (yes my mother complained cuz it has sports tires on it *the ones with no treads in the middle of the tire making it hard to drive in snow*) (I'm 19 and its my first car that i bought got on my own) but back his wordings,"we've done what we said we would and had down and we have nothing more to fix its all done and been fixed to the best of our abilities." as he said that i replied "I Don't thing you have. I mean no Disrespect, I really do but, I've seen Better Second grade finger painters do better job with paint then your Machanics." and He got up and left said "I'm Through with you and your car now we are done." and got up and left... but i asked M. Seeley to come out and just look at the paint and what those machanics did. He agreed and went and looked. He Then said "I Agree with you its not the best but its a used car that you bought, and i can't go over my boss's head with it I'm sorry. Like he said its done, i cant do anything for you, Sorry." So I'm wondering if taking this to legal matters is a right move or just something i can sit here and ponder about for a few months then eventually just giving up.
