Dear Judged
Struggling in law schoolThis is my first semester of law school and I really feel like I’m
struggling. I can’t keep up with my reading assignments, and when I
do actually study, I can barely understand what’s going on. I am
really considering dropping out.
Your thoughts?

Dear creativejunk,
I must say, your email sounds very familiar. I think almost everyone in
their first semester of law school feels like they’re struggling. I
would advise you to at least give it until your first semester grades come
in to decide whether or not you want to drop out. I’m not saying law
school is for everyone, but you’d be surprised at how well you can do
on a law school exam even when you feel like you don’t know
what’s going on; you probably know more than you think. That being
said, if after another few months you feel like it’s not working out,
you can always leave then. No one is going to force to finish law school.
For now, stick with it.
Wow, I think I like giving positive
advice…maybe this will be the end of my sarcasm and cynicism towards
others. Then again, maybe not; being so positive will get so boring after
another day or two...
