Resume ImpactI am currently working for a small firm in LA . Prior to this I had worked
for a very large firm. Somehow things didn’t work so well there.
Now, I’ve applied to a top law firm in the state again. I’m
wondering:
will it in any way affect my resume readers as to why I
shifted from BIGLAW to a small firm?

Honestly, yes, it will affect your resume. Large law firms will definitely wonder why you shifted to a small firm. You should make a point of explaining the move in your cover letter, and again discussing it in your interview (I’m assuming you had a good reason, and it’s not just that you didn’t like the hours or something). If you make a point of providing a valid explanation, I’m sure it won’t hold back your career.
