Drug Tests?Do you know if the big
firms conduct drug tests? If they do, when?

Dear ritch,
Sadly, I regret to
inform you that some big firms do conduct drug tests (if it’s any
consolation, not all of them do; some firms want to remain in denial about
the fact that half of their associates are coked out of their minds)
However, as to when the tests are conducted, your guess is as good as mine,
it depends on the firm. Some will test you once before you are officially
hired; others will conduct random drug tests. If you have a
particular firm in mind, ask an associate who works there (make sure
they’re normal and they’re not going to bust out your habits to
the partners) what their policies are. If you’re just
thinking about big firms generally, then I guess the safest bet would be to
lay off the drugs entirely. Good luck with that one…
