Rating SystemDear Judge,
I'd like to recommend some tweaks to your firm rating system. The topics
are fine, but for some of the ratings what is a top rating is very
subjective. For example for smoking in the office, a 10 is everyone smokes
like a chimney (or words to that effect). That depends on your perspective
doesn't it? If you're a 2 pack a day smoker, then it's nirvana, if you are
allergic to smoke, it's hell.
And asshole quotient? A 10 is that everyone's an asshole. That seems
sort of counter-intuitive. Drug and alcohol abuse, a 10 is that the firm
doubles as a halfway house? Sure everyone wants to have fun, but don't you
want the people you work with to be legally competent?
It might also be helpful to have the "what is this" section not in a
pop-up, but instead right in the text next to or below each rating
factor.
In truth, people probably don't think to check what the standards for each
rating are anyway, they may just give the score they want and the standards
be damned.

Thanks, Ima!
We're going to be going over the whole law firm rating process again to
improve the whole set up. We'll definitely make the Whats this not a pop
up... and we can try to add a function where voters can tell us which
criteria should be weighed the most when tabulating the final vote.
Like if smoking in the office didn't mean much to you, you could put more
weight on another question.
