David T. Harmon Named to 2007 WSTA Board of Directors
David T. Harmon, a member of the law firm of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., has been re-elected to the 2007 Board of Directors of the Wall Street Technology Association (WSTA).

The Wall Street Technology Association, founded in 1967, is a not-for-profit educational organization that focuses on technologies, operational approaches, and business issues for the global financial community. The WSTA Vendor Affiliate Program offers organized opportunities for vendors to keep financial industry professionals aware of current and emerging technologies. During 2007, the WSTA plans to continue to provide its members with high-quality educational programs and networking opportunities. In 2006, the WSTA added several new member services including a Members Only Center and Career Center to its web site. These, as well as new initiatives planned for 2007 will continue to provide members with the technology, business and operational information they can apply within their businesses. Some of the topics to be covered in 2007 include: Risk Management & the Enterprise Technology Strategy; Mobility Solutions for the Untethered Enterprise; Real-Time Trading & Information Distribution; and Next Generation Data Challenges and Solutions. A resident of Short Hills, Harmon focuses his practice in the areas of corporate, labor & employment, and higher education law. He is experienced serving as legal counsel on a wide range of matters for both privately and publicy held Internet, recruiting, technology, real estate, marketing and design companies.

Harmon represents business management and individuals in the negotiation and preparation of employment and severance agreements, including advertising, banking, fashion and financial executives, brokers, traders and entrepreneurs. He also provides counsel concerning compliance programs, which include employee policy manuals, and counseling and training concerning implementation of those policies. He also represents colleges and universities through extensive work as their outside general counsel.

Harmon has published many articles and frequently speaks on various legal topics. He earned his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 1985 and his B.A. from Tufts University in 1982. Harmon is a member of the New York State and American Bar Associations, as well as the New York County Lawyers’ Association. He is currently on the Board of Advisors of Communications and the Law, and is active in The Link Community School in Newark.

Former Head of Patents from Eastman Kodak Company Joins Nixon Peabody’s Intellectual Property (IP) Practice; J. Jeffrey Hawley Joins Law Firm’s Nationally Recognized IP Practice
Mr. Hawley joins one of the leading IP practices in the U.S. In 2005, Nixon Peabody was ranked among the top 25 IP litigation firms, and among the top 10 percent of top patent firms. The arrival of Mr. Hawley follows Nixon Peabody’s announcements over the past year of the addition of five established attorneys to its overall intellectual property practice in offices nationwide including in Washington, DC, and San Francisco. These attorneys have expanded the firm’s practice in the areas of patent litigation and high-level patent work, as well as life sciences and FDA regulatory-related matters.

Edley H. Jones III

Edley Jones comes to McGlinchey Stafford with significant experience handling commercial real estate and the defense of civil litigation matters. Drawing upon his extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions and his agency with a Nationwide Title Insurer, and as a senior litigator in defense of civil claims against a Fortune 5 client, Edley Jones combines his successes in these fields to now represent a variety of interests in commercial real estate transactions. Edley received his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1980 and his B.A. from Millsaps College in 1977.

Buddy McRae is an experienced litigator in the commercial litigation section of the firm, focusing on business law and appellate law. Prior to attending law school at the University of Mississippi School of Law, Buddy served as a staff assistant to United States Senator Thad Cochran. Adam Gates focuses his practice primarily on labor and employment law and class action defense. Amanda S. Stout

Amanda Stout brings to the firm a great deal of experience handling a variety labor and employment law matters. Prior to joining the firm, Amanda defended local governmental entities as well as private employers against various allegations of violations of federal and state statutes governing discrimination, harassment, whistleblower claims and noncompete agreements. Additionally, she has represented employers in responding to allegations brought before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Louisiana Commission on Human Rights. Amanda continues to work with clients to prevent employment claims by drafting policy manuals, conducting training seminars for managers and employees and advising clients on employment decisions, such as hiring and termination. Amanda received her J.D. and B.C.L. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2003, where she was a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity. She also received her B.S. in psychology from Louisiana State University in 2000.

Kathryn B. LaRose

Katie LaRose is an associate in the firm’s Baton Rouge office, practicing in the business section. She focuses her practice on corporate law and real estate law. Lisa L. Turboff

Lisa Turboff brings significant experience handling general litigation, insurance defense and products liability matters to McGlinchey Stafford’s Houston office. Representing the healthcare industry for several years, Lisa has won successful jury verdicts in significant medical negligence cases. She also has experience creating, organizing and managing nationwide discovery in significant diet drug litigation, and creating a standardized method of admitting company documents into evidence and resisting the admission of inappropriate documents in nationwide diet drug litigation. Lisa earned her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and her B.B.A. in finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

34 Attorneys Honored as 2006 "Oklahoma Super Lawyers"
Thirty-four attorneys from McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma’s largest law firm, have been named to the inaugural 2006 edition of Oklahoma Super Lawyers, with seven being singled out for “Top Lawyers” honors.

Frank D. Hill was recognized as a “Top 10 Oklahoma Lawyer” and Elizabeth D. Tyrrell, leader of the firm’s healthcare practice group, was named to the list of “Top 25 Female Oklahoma Lawyers.” Senior attorneys John Hermes, Michael Joseph, John Kenney, Martin Stringer and Peter Van Dyke were honored as “Top 50 Oklahoma Lawyers.”

Mona Dahr and Keith Peters Named New Tax Associates
Mona S. Dahr and Keith E. Peters have joined the law firm of McAfee & Taft as associates whose practices are focused on representing businesses and individuals in taxation and family wealth matters.

Dahr comes to McAfee & Taft after graduating with her master of laws degree in taxation from New York University, while Peters is currently pursuing his advanced law degree at NYU as an NYU Tax Law Review Scholar and serving as a graduate editor of the legal publication.

Mona Dahr graduated magna cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in both economics and history at Southern Methodist University before going on to earn her Juris Doctor at SMU in 2005 and her master of laws degree from NYU in 2006.

While a law student at SMU, Dahr served as articles editor for the SMU Law Review and as president of the International Law Society. Her legal experience also includes working as a federal tax clinic student attorney at the SMU Legal Clinic, as an intern for the Honorable Barbara J. Houser of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Justice Marian P. Opala of the Supreme Court of Oklahoma.

Keith Peters is a 2006 graduate of Harvard Law School, where he chaired HLS TaxHelp, an IRS-sanctioned volunteer program designed to aid elderly and economically disadvantaged taxpayers in the Cambridge, MA, area.

In 2002, Peters graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. As an undergraduate, Keith was the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including being named "Outstanding Senior" in the Price College of Business and receiving the "Outstanding Student" award from the Financial Executives Institute. In addition to being honored as the top accounting student in both his junior and senior years, he also served as president of the Student Business Association, chair of the JCPenney Leadership Program, and as a member of the Price Hall Design Committee.

Prior to entering law school, Peters was awarded the Gold Medal by the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants for earning the highest CPA exam score in Oklahoma in May 2003.
