Eckert Seamans Selected as One of Best Law Firms in Pittsburgh

ING Perpetual Hybrid Capital Securities Offering
Davis Polk & Wardwell advised Citigroup, ING Financial Markets and Morgan Stanley as joint lead managers for a group of underwriters in connection with a $1 billion SEC-registered offering of 6.375% perpetual hybrid capital securities of ING Groep N.V.

Based in Amsterdam, ING is one of the world’s largest financial institutions, with significant insurance, banking and asset management operations primarily in the Benelux, North America, Asia and a number of emerging markets in Central Europe and South America.

The Davis Polk corporate team included partner Jeffrey M. Oakes, associate Zoe J. Maddox and summer associate David A. Joffe of the London office. Counsel Marcie A. Goldstein of the New York office advised on NASD matters. Partner John D. Paton and associate Brian Radigan of the London office provided tax advice. Foley Attorney Named Outstanding Health Care Lawyer by Nightingale’s Healthcare News
Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Judith A. Waltz was named one of Nightingale's Healthcare News Outstanding Health Care Fraud and Compliance Lawyers of 2007. Waltz was among 12 winners named to this year's list, which was published in the May issue of Nightingale's, a monthly newsletter for professionals serving the health care industry.

This announcement follows on the heels of the firm's David W. Simon being named to Nightingale's Outstanding Health Care Litigator's list in January and Lawrence C. Conn being named to Nightingale's Outstanding Physician Practice Lawyers list in March.

Waltz is vice chair of the firm's Health Care Industry Team as well as a member of the White Collar Defense & Corporate Compliance Practice. She regularly advises clients who are the focus of government investigations and other enforcement actions, and has negotiated False Claims Act settlements with the U.S. Department of Justice as well as corporate integrity agreements (CIAs) with the Office of Inspector General. She also provides ongoing compliance counseling and Medicare payment advice to clients which include county health systems, hospitals, durable medical equipment suppliers, clinical laboratories, dialysis companies, skilled nursing facilities, ambulance companies, pharmacies, teaching hospitals, managed care providers, and a variety of other health care entities.

Prior to joining the firm in 1998, Waltz served as assistant regional counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in San Francisco, primarily handling Medicare issues including enforcement actions.

Cozen O’Connor Member Sarah A. Kelly Elected Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers
Cozen O’Connor member Sarah A. Kelly has been elected a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. The College was formed in 1995 by the Council of the ABA’s Labor and Employment Law Section to “promote achievement, advancement and excellence in the practice of labor and employment law.” It consists of approximately 900 labor and employment lawyers in the United States and recognizes those who, by long and outstanding service, have distinguished themselves as leaders in the field. Election as a Fellow is extended only to those attorneys who have demonstrated the highest professional qualifications, ethical standards, integrity, professional expertise and leadership; a commitment to fostering and furthering the objectives of the College; sustained and exceptionally high-quality services to clients, bar, bench and public; and significant evidence of scholarship, including teaching, lecturing and writing on labor and employment law.

Kelly practices with the firm’s labor and employment law practice group in the Philadelphia office. She concentrates her practice in employment law and employment discrimination law and related litigation, and in counseling employers on all issues in labor and employment law. Kelly has more than 22 years of experience, both at leading law firms and as in-house counsel for major financial services organizations.

Kelly is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is a member of the American Bar Association and it’s labor and employment law section and equal employment opportunity committee. She is also a member of the American Employment Law Council and the Philadelphia Bar Association. She frequently lectures at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s annual Employment Law Institute and often speaks to client groups on how to address employment law issues in the every day workplace.

Kelly earned her undergraduate degree from Tufts University (B.A., 1977) and her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., 1985).

Cozen O’Connor member Justin B. Wineburgh recently appeared on NBC10’s All That & More to discuss the Paris Hilton prison saga. Resident in the Philadelphia office, Wineburgh counsels clients in the entertainment industry in the U.S. and abroad. He represents clients in the film, television, music, new media and sports industries in complex tort, commercial, defamation, privacy, corporate, employment and intellectual property matters. Wineburgh has represented talent, writers, distributors, retailers, managers, agents, producers, music engineers, production companies and artists in a variety of matters, including litigation, contract negotiations, transactional matters and pre-litigation counseling, and has also served as production counsel for a number of independent films.

Wineburgh is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida, and before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Supreme Court of Florida, Supreme Court of New Jersey and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey. In 2006, Wineburgh was selected as a Pennsylvania “Lawyer on the Fast Track” by American Lawyer Media and was also selected as a Widener University School of Law Alumni Spotlight Honoree, an award given to four alumni of the law school each year.

Wineburgh earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Lafayette College (B.A., 1994) and his law degree from Widener University School of Law (J.D., 1997), where he was editor/administrative board member of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law, a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and a member of Phi Delta Phi, Harrington Inn, Honor Chapter. He served as a judicial intern to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and as a law clerk for the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) closed its nine-month inquiry into allegations regarding a recently retired Member of Congress, with no finding of wrongdoing.
