Algoma Steel completes C$1.85 billion sale to Essar Global
Torys is representing Algoma Steel with a team that included Peter Jewett, Kevin Morris, John Emanoilidis and John Guccione (Canadian corporate and securities); John Unger (tax); Jim Tory and Andrew Gray (litigation); Andy Beck (U.S. corporate and securities); Jay Holsten (competition); Dennis Mahony (environmental); and Chris Medland (pension and employment).

Algoma Steel Inc. (TSX: AGA) completed its sale to Essar Global Ltd. (BOM: 500627) for C$1.85 billion (US$1.63 billion).

Essar Global, based in Mumbai, is one of India's largest corporate houses, focused on steel, oil and gas, power, communications, shipping and logistics, and construction. Its Essar Steel division is India’s largest exporter of flat rolled products.

Algoma Steel, based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, is an integrated producer of sheet and plate products that are sold primarily in Canada and the United States.

At DWT, Usellis will lead a department focused on business development, enhanced customer experience and marketing communications. He brings more than 20 years of diverse experience in business development, marketing and communications.

He has also been a vice president at the global public affairs consulting firm, APCO Worldwide, public affairs director at U S West, and legislative director to U.S. Rep. Ron Wyden.

Usellis earned his M.P.A. in international trade and finance from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 1989 and his B.A. in economics in 1983 at Haverford College.

Shughart Thomson & Kilroy (Phoenix) Shareholder Joins YWCA Board of Directors.
"Shareholder and civil litigator, Kelly Flood, of Shughart Thomson & Kilroy, P.C., has been elected to serve on the YWCA of Maricopa County Board of Directors, one of the oldest and largest multicultural women's organization in the state and nationwide. She will serve a two-year term.

“I'm excited to join the board to assist in furthering the YWCA's mission to assist and empower women in our community,” said Flood.

Flood, a Phoenix resident, joined Shughart Thomson & Kilroy in 2000. Her practice focuses primarily on commercial and class action litigation, employment law and appellate work.

“Kelly has a strong commitment and enthusiasm for our mission,” said YWCA Chief Executive Dana Campbell Saylor. “Kelly joins a great group of well-respected professionals and community leaders that are generous in giving of their time and expertise to the YWCA.”

In addition to her work with the YWCA, Flood serves on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Humane Society and the editorial board for Arizona Attorney Magazine.

Flood received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from Arizona State University. She earned her juris doctorate from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at ASU."
