First Property Trust Lists on the Australia Pacific Exchange (APX)
Baker & McKenzie advised Australian Social Infrastructure Fund (ASIF) on its listing on the Australia Pacific Exchange (APX) on 22 June 2007.

The Baker & McKenzie team was led by Richard Lustig with support from Lewis Apostolou, both Melbourne-based corporate Partners. Austock Corporate Finance Limited acted as the financial adviser.

ASIF is the first listing of a property trust on the APX, and listed with a market capitalisation of $80 million. ASIF was established in 2001 and invests in social infrastructure assets. With 1450 unitholders, ASIF's listing was a compliance listing which did not require a prospectus or product disclosure statement for "spread" or secondary trading purposes.

The APX is a small stock exchange, and imposes fewer cost and logistical constraints on listings providing an easier entry level compared to the ASX.

Vin Harink, CEO of Austock Property Management Limited, the responsible entity for ASIF said, "The listing provides a secondary trading mechanism for ASIF investors in a transparent and more liquid context. It also provides a potential springboard for ASIF to grow moving forward through future share issues in a listed environment."

Richard Lustig said "The listing demonstrates that ASIF, like certain other unlisted bodies, are well suited to transition to a listed environment. APX is ideal for small to medium sized companies and property trusts/syndicates who have the benefit of sponsor coverage. This is similar to the position of companies listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in the United Kingdom."
