LeBoeuf Lamb Advises Lead Managers on Kingdom of Morocco Eurobond
"LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae has advised joint lead managers, Citigroup Global Markets Limited and J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd. as Lead Managers on the Kingdom of Morocco's €500 million Eurobond.

The Kingdom of Morocco issued €500 million 5.375% Notes due 27 June 2017. It is only the second Eurobond issuance by the Kingdom of Morocco.

The LeBoeuf Lamb team advising the Lead Managers was led by London head of capital markets, Camille Abousleiman and included associates Patrick Lyons, Jessica Mider and Louis Abou-Charaf. All are based in LeBoeuf Lamb's London office. Camille Abousleiman also advised the lead managers on the Kingdom of Morocco's inaugural sovereign bond issue in 2003.

Camille Abousleiman said, ""The LeBoeuf Lamb team is delighted to have advised Citigroup and JPMorgan on the Kingdom of Morocco's second sovereign bond issue. We are pleased to have assisted the Kingdom of Morocco in accessing the international capital markets."

Mark A. Aronchick Appointed to Chair the Committee on the Rules of Evidence of the American College of Trial Lawyers
Mark A. Aronchick, a founding member of Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin, recently was appointed to Chair the Committee on the Rules of Evidence of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

The American College of Trial Lawyers’ mandate is to improve and elevate the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the profession. The American College is made up of experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Fellowship is extended by invitation and never can be more than 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province.

Mr. Aronchick, a member of Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin’s Board of Directors, has a diverse national trial and appellate practice, including health care fraud and abuse, health care litigation, controversies involving financial institutions, antitrust, environmental, employment, securities, class actions, construction, professional malpractice, governmental, administrative, general business and white collar criminal defense cases. He is a past Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Mr. Aronchick was a member of Mayor William J. Green's administration and was appointed as the youngest City Solicitor in the history of Philadelphia. In 1996, he became the first attorney to simultaneously serve as President of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation and Vice Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Mr. Aronchick is a former member of the Civil Rules Committee of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Judicial Council of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Aronchick graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School in 1974 where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He received his B.A. cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1971. Mr. Aronchick is named in Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

Florida Trend Honors Six Attorneys At Gunster Yoakley; Three Attorneys Named “Legal Elite” And Three Named “Up & Coming Legal Elite”
Six attorneys from the Jacksonville, Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach offices of Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart, P.A. have been recognized as leaders in the legal profession by Florida Trend magazine. In the July issue, David G. Bates, Michael R. Cavendish and Michael V. Mitrione have been named “Legal Elite,” a prestigious list of the top 1.8 percent of Florida Bar members as ranked by their legal peers. Bryan S. Miller, David C. Scileppi and Gaida Zirkelbach have been named “Up & Coming Legal Elite” by the magazine.
Legal Elite

David G. Bates is a shareholder in the West Palm Beach office and the co-chair of the firm’s Technology Practice Group and Emerging Company Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in the areas of buying and selling businesses, corporate transactions, technology and intellectual property law, and venture capital.

Michael R. Cavendish is a shareholder and litigation attorney in the Jacksonville office. He concentrates his practice in complex commercial litigation, including the representation of national mortgage bankers.

Michael V. Mitrione is a corporate attorney and shareholder in the West Palm Beach office and has been with the firm since 1979. Chair of the firm’s Corporate Department, he concentrates his practice in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity transactions, partnerships, licensing, securities law compliance, and banking, plus other corporate, securities and finance matters.
Up & Coming Legal Elite

Bryan Miller is a litigation attorney in the West Palm Beach office. Recognized as one of the rising stars of the Democratic Party, Miller is a candidate for State House in District 83, and is the founder and chair of the Democratic Professionals Council, one of the state’s largest Democratic groups in Florida. He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial and corporate litigation, and defamation law.

David C. Scileppi is a corporate attorney in the Ft. Lauderdale office. He concentrates his practice on advising corporate clients in the areas of formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and federal and state securities law. He regularly provides advice to financial services clients on lending and regulatory compliance. Before practicing law, David, a certified public accountant, worked as an auditor for KPMG LLP. Gaida Zirkelbach is a corporate attorney in the West Palm Beach office. She is a member of the firm’s Emerging Company Practice Group, Technology Practice Group and Franchise Practice Group, and concentrates her practice in business law; technology, Internet and licensing; media, entertainment and communications law; mergers and acquisitions; and franchise law.

Associate Mary Anderson Selected for Leadership Greater Chicago Fellows Program
Mary Anderson, an associate at the law firm Goldberg Kohn, has been appointed by Leadership Greater Chicago as a member of the 2008 Leadership Fellows Class, a group whose diverse members represent some of the most actively engaged volunteer leaders in the Chicago area. Ms. Anderson is one of 35 fellows selected from this year’s competitive pool of nominees.

"We are proud that Mary follows two previous Goldberg Kohn attorneys as participants in the exemplary Leadership Greater Chicago Program,” said Terry Moritz, the head of the litigation group at Goldberg Kohn. “Mary is a perfect fit for the program because of her passion for social justice and her drive to help better her community. She has demonstrated the same outstanding leadership qualities as her predecessors and I know that she will benefit as greatly from her experience in the program as did they."

Ms. Anderson was selected for the year-long Fellows Program because of her strong leadership abilities and dedication to her career and her community. Through the program, she will meet with community leaders throughout Chicago to obtain an understanding of the city’s challenges and resources in such areas as housing, crime, education and healthcare. The Fellows Program helps participants form a vision of how they want to direct their own community outreach efforts and gives them the resources and information to make significant personal contributions.

A Chicago resident, Ms. Anderson is a member of the Board of Directors of the Center on Halsted, a gay and lesbian community center in the Lake View neighborhood, and is president and a member of the Board for the Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice, a research and advocacy organization focused on issues of social justice. She is also a past president and board member of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago.

GLM attorneys compete in 24-Hour Challenge
The Law Firm of Garan Lucow Miller, P.C. competed for a fourth year in the National 24-Hour Challenge, an endurance ride through Barry County, Michigan. This year, nine cyclists rode for the Garan Lucow Miller Bike Team.

2007 market the 25th year of the 24-Hour Challenge and over 366 riders from 22 states, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the Republic of South Africa participated, logging a total of 84,904.2 miles in 24 hours. Visit www.n24hc.org/event.html for more information on the 24 Hour Challenge.

Garan Lucow Miller’s Bike Team, with assistance of its sponsors and support crew, logged over 2,036.1 miles this year. Edward Freeland, a partner at Garan Lucow Miller, and his brother, Doug Freeland, placed third in the sibling category.

FMC’s Carman J. Overholt, Q.C. recognized for Pro Bono achievements
FMC's Carman Overholt received the Harry Rankin, QC Pro Bono Award, which recognizes outstanding unpaid contributions by a lawyer. This award was presented to Mr. Overholt by the Canadian Bar Association.

Carman J.Overholt, Q.C. is not only a senior partner at FMC but also served as founding president of Pro Bono Law of B.C., a group connecting lawyers with community organizations that help those who can't afford legal counsel.
