Judge Hart Memorial Scholarship Presented to Five Hofstra Law Students
Rivkin Radler has presented the Judge Edward J. Hart Memorial Scholarship for Trial Advocacy to Brendan M. Ahern, Matthew J. Connolly, Ami J. Lipman, Stephanie M. Palma and Daniel Zuniga. All are recent graduates of Hofstra University's School of Law.

The Judge Edward J. Hart Memorial Scholarship for Trial Advocacy was created in honor of Edward Hart, a distinguished judge, accomplished trial lawyer who was a partner at Rivkin Radler before being elected to the bench of the New York State Supreme Court and later appointed by the Governor to a Judgeship in the Appellate Division in Brooklyn. When Judge Hart passed away in 1996, Rivkin Radler created a scholarship in his name for Hofstra Law Students. Each year, the firm provides this $2,500.00 scholarship to a student or students who are selected by the Hofstra Law School.

Rivkin Radler Hiring Partner, Gary Centola, offered the soon-to-be-lawyers the following advice, "As prosecutors, above all remember to be honorable. And, in practice, you should approach the law with passion and purpose."
"The Judge Edward Hart Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Trial Advocacy recognizes graduating students who have demonstrated outstanding performance in trial competitions throughout their years at Hofstra Law and plan to pursue careers as litigators in the private sector or as prosecutors in the public sector," stated Hofstra Law School Interim Dean, Nora Demleitner. "We are tremendously grateful to Rivkin Radler LLP for its recognition and support of our students through this scholarship."

Although the five Hart Scholars are consumed by review courses and bar preparation, the weight of searching for jobs has been lifted as all have already accepted legal positions.

About the Hart Scholars:
