Seven Cooper Attorneys Named as Northern California Super Lawyers in San Francisco Magazine
Cooper, White & Cooper LLP attorneys Marcy Bergman, Kenneth Goodin, Keith Howard, Stephen Kaus, Peter Muhs, William Norman, and Mark Tuft were recently recognized on the "Northern California Super Lawyers 2007" list in the August 2007 issue of San Francisco magazine.

* Marcy Bergman is co-chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group of Cooper, White & Cooper LLP. The focus of her practice is intellectual property law with an emphasis on trademark and copyright counseling, registration, prosecution and litigation.
* Kenneth Goodin is a member of the firm's Estate Planning and Probate Group. Mr. Goodin's estate planning practice includes the design and implementation of estate tax "freezing" and valuation reduction techniques, revocable and irrevocable trusts, trusts for minors, life insurance trusts, family partnerships, personal residence trusts, and various forms of family and charitable gifts.
* Keith Howard is head of the firm's Walnut Creek office. Mr. Howard's practice includes representation of corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietorships as general outside counsel on a wide variety of legal matters. He has extensive experience representing industry, landowners, developers, and individuals in environmental regulatory proceedings. The scope of his services also includes estate planning.
* Stephen Kaus is chair of the firm's Litigation Department. He handles complex civil and criminal matters, including class actions and multi-district litigation. He also handles the establishment and maintenance of conservatorships and guardianships and consults on the prosecution and defense of probate-related litigation.
* William Norman is an experienced business trial lawyer with an emphasis on real property, wrongful termination, trade secret, professional liability and partnership disputes. He has tried over 60 lawsuits to successful conclusions, the majority of them jury trials, with the result that he has been elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates.
* Mark Tuft is principally engaged in federal and state court trial practice involving commercial and criminal matters. His trial experience includes insurance coverage disputes, newspaper antitrust litigation, media, defamation and related first amendment litigation, real estate, corporate securities, and defense of businesses and individuals in criminal litigation. He also serves legal ethics counsel to individuals and law firms on matters of professional responsibility and practice management.

Foley & Lardner LLP Ranked Top National Sports Law Practice
Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that its Sports Law Practice was recently recognized by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers For Business: 2007 Client's Guide as one of the top in the nation. Chambers, a guide to law firms and attorneys across the country, is compiled by independent researchers who conducted more than 14,000 phone interviews with clients and lawyers nationwide.

As one of the top six firms ranked nationally in the Sports Law category, Foley is primarily known for its work with Major League Baseball. The guide praises Foley's team for its “skills across a range of areas including facilities matters, financing, IP and disputes. This variety can be seen in the group's recent activity, where it was involved in the Mitchell investigation into steroid abuse and handled a range of league and real estate issues surrounding the move of the Montreal Expos to Washington, D.C.” Commentators opined that “it's an astute and responsive team that seems able to find a specialist to handle every problem.”

In addition to ranking the firm's Sports Law Practice nationally, Chambers also recognizes Foley litigation partner Mary K. Braza nationally in the practice of Sports Law. Braza, chair of Foley's Sports Industry Team, is cited as “an excellent, astute litigator who analyzes a problem using good common sense.”

Braza is a member of the firm's Management Committee. She serves as outside counsel to Major League Baseball in a variety of issues including strategic planning. Foley Jacksonville Attorneys Selected as 2007 Legal Elite
Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that four attorneys in its Jacksonville office have been named to the 2007 Florida Trend's “Legal Elite” list.

The Foley attorneys named and their primary practices as classified by Florida Trend are: Charles E. Commander III, Real Estate Transactions; David C. Cook, Real Estate Transactions; Gardner F. Davis, Business Law; and Richard W. Hawthorne, Real Estate Transactions.

To compile the fourth annual edition of Florida Trend's Legal Elite, the magazine distributed nomination ballots in October 2006 to Florida attorneys, who voted for lawyers whom they held in highest regard. Votes were tallied by an independent company on a point system and the final list is comprised of 868 lawyers of the 59,481 practicing Florida Bar members.
