Carlton Fields Attorney, Sorraya M. Solages, Appointed to the Dade County Bar Young Lawyers Section Board of Directors
Carlton Fields Miami Associate Sorraya M. Solages was appointed to the Dade County Bar Young Lawyers Section Board of Directors.

The Dade County Bar Association was incorporated in 1920 to advance the science of Jurisprudence, to promote reform in the law, to facilitate the administration of justice, to uphold the standard of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession, and to cultivate a spirit of cordiality and brotherhood among the members of the Bar.

Solages is a member of the Firm's Appellate Practice and Trial Support and the Labor and Employment Practice Groups. She previously served as a staff attorney to The Honorable Robert. M. Gross, Fourth District Court of Appeal (2002-2004). Solages received her B.A. from the University of Central Florida in 1999 and her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 2002.

Carlton Fields Attorney, M. Derek Harris, Appointed to Children & The Courts Committee of the State Bar of Georgia
The State Bar of Georgia recently appointed Carlton Fields Atlanta associate M. Derek Harris to Advisor of the Children & the Courts Committee.

The purpose of the Children & the Courts Committee is to protect the interest of children in the judicial system. The Committee advises the State Bar of Georgia Executive Committee and Board of Governors so that all people, including children, have access to equal access to justice. Over the past two years, Harris has been involved with the Truancy Intervention Project (""TIP""), which works in conjunction with the Fulton County Juvenile Court, Atlanta City and Fulton County Public School Systems to resolve truancy issues and get children on track to achieve academic and personal success.

Harris practices in the firm's Atlanta office in the Business and Trade Regulation Practice Group. He represents clients in civil matters in the areas of product liability, government regulation, antitrust, and general litigation. Harris received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2002 and his B.A. from the University of Delaware in 1999.

Carlton Fields Tampa associate Min K. Cho was recently elected President-Elect of the Board of Directors for Tampa Crossroads, Inc.

Established in 1977, Tampa Crossroads, Inc. provides comprehensive residential and non-residential services to non-violent offenders and ex-offenders. Tampa Crossroads, Inc. fosters an educational and rehabilitative environment for individuals that have broken the law or who desire to change their lives in a more positive direction. The goal of the organization is to provide participants with the opportunity to learn new life skills and to become self-reliant law-abiding citizens.

Cho is a member of the Firm's White Collar Crime and Government Investigations and the Business Litigation and Trade Regulation Practice Groups. He concentrates his practice in the areas of white collar and general criminal defense, commercial litigation, bankruptcy/creditors' rights and real property litigation. Cho received a B. A. with honors, in 2001 from the University of Florida, and a J.D., cum laude, in 2004 from Florida State University College of Law.

Labor and Employment Attorney Mark Neuberger Noted in Article on The Education Fund
Labor and Employment attorney Mark J. Neuberger's participation in the Great American Teach-A-Thon was noted in the July 16, 2006, edition of The Miami Herald in an article on The Education Fund, a North Miami-based nonprofit that supports Miami-Dade Public Schools.

The Great American Teach-A-Thon pairs volunteers in the classroom for a day, raising pledge money based upon the number of hours the volunteers teach.

Neuberger was among the volunteers in November for a two-hour teaching experience.

""We just did it for a few hours — teachers do that every day,"" he told The Herald. ""I think anything that brings greater interaction between the business community and the education community is a benefit. More businesses should go into schools to see what's going on.

More Than Half Of Howard Rice’s Directors Selected As Super Lawyers
For the third consecutive year, more than half of Howard Rice Nemerovski Canady Falk & Rabkin’s directors have been selected by their peers as Super Lawyers. Also for the third year in a row, Jerome Falk, Jr. was selected as a Top 100 Super Lawyer. The list of 2006 Northern California Super Lawyers is published in conjunction with San Francisco and Law & Politics magazines and is an annual recognition of the top five percent of attorneys in the region.

Bingham McCutchen Named to A-List
The American Lawyer has ranked Bingham McCutchen #16 on its 2006 A-List. The A-List is a select group of the country's top 20 law firms, which, according to the legal industry's premier legal publication, comprises "the nation's law firm elite." Drawn from four different American Lawyer Media rankings of the 200 largest law firms in the U.S., the A-List "looks beyond simple business results to identify firms that set the standard for their peers in areas including economic performance, pro bono work, associate satisfaction and diversity." In describing Bingham McCutchen, The American Lawyer states: "Few firms have managed merger mania as gracefully...Bingham has also burnished its securities litigation credentials with a series of lateral hires from in-house and government positions -- including Donald Davidson, Herbert Janick III, and W. Hardy Callcott." This year, the firm raised its revenue per lawyer score by 10.5 percent and jumped from #31 to #19 in the pro bono ranking. This is the second time that Bingham McCutchen has been named to this highly prestigious list.

Brown and Reeve will be speaking on “Getting Paid on Construction Projects”, while Wilson will be addressing “Construction Risk Management”. Brown focuses his practice on commercial litigation, with a particular concentration in construction law. He frequently represents contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, bonding companies, and owners, and has experience handling construction, lien law, trust fund, construction defects and surety claims. Wilson practices in the areas of insurance coverage and insurance regulation, and Reeve is Chair of the Firm’s Construction and Surety Practice Area. He has been in the field of construction, surety and fidelity claims for more than 25 years, representing bonding companies, contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, suppliers and public and private owners.
