Cusack & Stiles LLP Joins Cullen and Dykman LLP
Six partners and two associates of the Manhattan law firm of Cusack & Stiles LLP have joined Cullen and Dykman LLP, providing the combined firm with expanded resources and experience in representing charitable, religious and education organizations as well as other not-for-profit corporations.

Cusack & Stiles LLP, located in the Wall Street area of lower Manhattan, was established in 1965 and has been representing not-for-profit, charitable, religious and educational organizations, as well as business corporations, for over 40 years. The firm also practices in the area of employee benefits and has an extensive practice in the areas of real estate and trusts and estates, and represents several trusts and foundations.

Cullen and Dykman LLP was founded in 1850 and represents individuals, financial institutions, large and small businesses, educational institutions, religious organizations, insurance companies, energy and telecommunications companies, municipalities and not-for-profits. The firm's practice areas include corporate and commercial law, real estate, banking, foreclosure, bankruptcy, tort and commercial litigation, energy law, labor and employment law, municipal law, immigration law, tax certiorari and trusts and estates.

The combined firm has a total of 138 attorneys with offices in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens as well as Garden City, Long Island, Newark , New Jersey and Washington , DC .

Sonia Cortés, a lawyer specializing in employment law, joins Cuatrecs well acknowledged international experience, she will join the Barcelona office with her team of lawyers
The law firm Cuatrecasas will strengthen its Labor Practice Area from June 1 by bringing in, as partner, Sonia Cortés and her team of lawyers specializing in employment law.

The new Cuatrecasas partner, although based in Barcelona, will strengthen the firm's labor law international practice, as she has devoted a substantial part of her career to advising international clients on redundancy schemes, lay offs, negotiations with trade unions, senior management agreements, occupational discrimination and safety litigation, among other issues.

Sonia Cortés comes from the law firm Mullerat. She graduated in law at the University of Barcelona and holds a masters in business law. After more than 15 years of practice in labor-related issues, she enjoys great international prestige, and is a member of the employment and labor relations committee of the International Bar Association (IBA), the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA), the executive committee of the Association International de Jeunes Avocats (AIJA) and the Union International d'Avocats (UIA).

Sonia Cortés is the author of many publications, and has teaching experience in graduate and postgraduate courses in prestigious centers in Belgium, Spain and the UK.

Kristin N. Necessary Joins Firm
Kristin N. Necessary joined Crain, Caton & James in August 2005. Ms. Necessary represents executors and will beneficiaries in probate proceedings, and also litigates will contests and suits against trustees for breaches of fiduciary duty. Ms. Necessary has appeared as an ad litem in mental health commitment proceedings and is certified by the State Bar of Texas to serve as an ad litem in guardianship proceedings.

Ms. Necessary’s practice also includes the preparation of estate plans for a wide variety of clients, including the drafting of wills, ancillary documents such as powers of attorney, various trusts used in tax planning, and private annuities.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Necessary served as a briefing attorney to the Honorable Justice Dale Wainwright of the Texas Supreme Court. She now uses insights gained from that experience to craft appeals in Texas courts.

Thom Brown, CVK's Managing Partner, is the MBA's New President-Elect
The recently elected officers for the 2006-2007 Multnomah Bar Association include: Peter H. Glade, President; Thomas W. Brown, President-Elect; Michael Dwyer, Treasurer; and David Ernst, Secretary. Founded in 1906, the Multnomah Bar Associaton is a voluntary, nonprofit, professional association of over 4,000 lawyers and judges, serving the Portland metropolitan area. From the beginning, the MBA has provided metro-area lawyers with a forum for continuing education, professional and business development and law-related community service. Thom's presidencey in August of 2007 will be the third for CVK. Partners Randall B. Kester held that title in 1956 and Walter H. Sweek in 1988.

Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz LLP Attorney Participates in PLI Seminar
Richard D. Levin, a partner in the Wilmington Office of Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz and member of the Corporate and Commercial group, will participate in the PLI Seminar “Commercial Real Estate Financing 2006” being held in three different cities across the country between January and March of 2006. Mr. Levin’s presentation, which was co-authored by CBLH associate Brian Gottesman, will focus on Delaware Entities, including topics related to the advantages of Delaware law for SPE’s, how Delaware law facilitates the use of a single member limited liability company, “The Delaware opinion requirements”, and current issues with Delaware Entities. TANIA GARCIA-MILAN JOINS FIRM
The Firm welcomes our new associate, Tania Garcia- Milan. Ms. Garcia-Milan was previously associated with the Northeast New Jersey Legal Services.
Born in Madrid, Spain, she received a B.A. in International Relations form Boston University in 2000. She received her J.D. from Boston College Law School in May, 2004. Ms. Garci-Milan is admitted in New Jersey and New York, and is also a member of the bar of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Ms. Garcia-Milan concentrates her practice in the fields of Special Education, Family and Real Estate Law.

2006 SUMMER ASSOCIATES JOIN CLPHK
We are pleased to welcome our three Summer Associates, Jessica Bosch, Jessica Brennan, and Calvin Souder. The Summer Associate Program provides exposure to diverse fields of the practice of law, and, to the extent permitted by law, hand-on experience in the legal profession. The primary thrust of the Summer Associates Program is the total integration of the Summer Associates into the fabric of Firm life.
We are pleased to introduce this year’s Summer Associates:

Jessica A. Bosch is currently enrolled in Rutgers School of Law in Newark, New Jersey where she is anticipating graduation in 2007 with a Juris Doctor degree. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Bosch attended Hofstra University from 1998 to 2001, where she received a B.A. with honors in Social Science. In 2002 Ms, Bosch received her M.A. in Public Policy with a focus on Educational Policy from Columbia University. Ms. Bosch is a recipient of both the Andrew K. Ruotolo Jr. Memorial Prosecutor’s Scholarship and the Raymond Trombadore Memorial Scholarship. At Rutgers, Ms. Bosch is the University Senator for the law school, Production Editor for the Women’s Right’s Law Journal, and is a Student Bar Association Representative for her class. In addition, Ms. Bosch volunteers her time at the Domestic Violence Advocacy Program in Newark, New Jersey and works as a certified court mediator in both the Hillsborough and Franklin Township Municipal Courts. Prior to attending law school Ms. Bosch worked as a lobbyist in the state of New Jersey advocating for the rights of children and worked as an adjunct professor at Montclair State University where she taught Contemporary Issues in Child Advocacy.

Jessica Brennan graduated from the University of Delaware in 2004. She has a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies. While at the University of Delaware, Ms. Brennan served as a copy editor for the Delaware Politics and Law Review and was a member of the executive board of the Pre-Law Student Association. Ms. Brennan currently attends Seton Hall University School of Law. At Seton Hall she is a member of the Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Board, the Student Bar Association, and the Women’s Law Forum. Ms. Brennan expects to graduate from Seton Hall in May 2007.

Calvin Souder graduated with a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross in 2002. While at Holy Cross he majored in Political Science, concentrated in African-American Literature, and earned his teaching certification. Calvin was also a member of the football team and Vice President of the Black Student Union. After graduation Calvin began work with the Newark Public Schools as a Social Studies teacher and currently teaches “Introduction to the Legal System” and “Business and Personal Law.” As a student at Seton Hall University School of Law Calvin is a member of the Interscholastic Moot Court Board and a tutor for the Academic Support program. Calvin expects to graduate from Seton Hall in May 2007.
