HARTER SECREST & EMERY PARTNER, JOHN V. ELMORE APPOINTED TO GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE PANEL IN THE EIGHTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT
John V. Elmore, litigation partner with Harter Secrest & Emery has been named by Eugene F. Pigott, presiding justice of the Appellate Division based in Rochester, to head the attorney grievance committee in Western New York’s Eighth Judicial District.

The committee focuses on investigating complaints against attorneys. This term is Mr. Elmore’s second three-year term on the committee.

Mr. Elmore, a former New York state trooper, Manhattan Assistant District Attorney, and New York State Assistant Attorney General, has more than 20 years of experience in criminal and civil trials in state and federal courts. He is an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. Additionally, Elmore is the author of the highly acclaimed book, Fighting for Your Life: The African American Criminal Justice Survival Guide. He is the past president of the Minority Bar Association of Western New York, and a former member of the Erie County Bar Association Judiciary and Nominating committees. Elmore is a 1975 graduate of Olean High School and the son of Lorna R. Elmore and the late Herbert V. Elmore.

Baechtold Honored With “VIP” Award from the Hamilton County Community Mental Health Board
Graydon Head & Ritchey LLP attorney William J. Baechtold has been honored with the VIP (Volunteering Is Phenomenal) Award from the Hamilton County Community Mental Health Board. Baechtold was recognized with this honor for his part in the formation of the Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services.

Baechtold’s practice at GH&R is concentrated in the estate planning area, counseling clients in planning for the management and disposition of property during lifetime, at death and after death. He also practices in the areas of real estate and general corporate law.

He is also recognized with an AV Rating, the highest rating given to lawyers by Martindale-Hubbell. Katzman, Hendershot, Lock Recognized as "Superlawyers"
Philadelphia Magazine has named Ronald M. Katzman, Neil E. Hendershot, and Joshua D. Lock ""Superlawyers"" for the state of Pennsylvania. This honor applies to only 5% of attorneys in Pennsylvania and is bestowed on attorneys who have ""achieved a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.""

Recipients are determined through a multi-stage process that takes nine months and involves surveying every attorney in the state who has been in practice for five years or more. The final awards are then made by an independent panel. Recipients are publicized statewide through numerous publications, as well as directly to 42,000 attorneys.

Howard J. Schulberg named 2006 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer
