Kahn Kleinman Attorneys named Ohio Rising Stars
Four Kahn Kleinman attorneys were named Ohio Rising Stars by Law & Politics magazine: Phil Bautista, Howard Bobrow, Leigh Hellner, and Peter Nealis.

Only 2.5 percent of Ohio lawyers receive this honor and recognition as top up-and-coming attorneys in Ohio.

To find Rising Stars, Law & Politics starts by mailing ballots to the most recent group of Super Lawyers: the top 5 percent of attorneys in the state. Super Lawyers are asked to vote for the best attorneys who are either 40 or under or who have been practicing 10 or fewer years. They are instructed to vote for lawyers they have personally observed in action — whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other first-hand courtroom observation.

Kahn Kleinman Elects Richard S. Rivitz to Managing Partner
Kahn Kleinman announced today that Richard S. Rivitz was elected to Managing Partner. The action was unanimous among the firm’s Partners. Mr. Rivitz will continue to serve on the Executive Committee of Kahn Kleinman, alongside Kevin Barnes and Dominic DiPuccio.

“We are extremely pleased to have Rick Rivitz as our Managing Partner,” stated Mr. Barnes. “For more than 12 years, Rick has been providing strategic and financial guidance as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and as its Chief Operating Officer. This is a natural step for Rick and the firm.”

Mr. Rivitz stated that his main objective as Managing Partner of Kahn Kleinman is to continue to attract and maintain a growing base of clients with the best and brightest result-orientated lawyers. “I’m proud that seventy percent of Kahn Kleinman’s partners have been recently named as The Best Lawyers in America for 2005-2006. In 2005, Kahn Kleinman ranked number one in the percentage of partners listed in “Ohio Super Lawyers”, stated Mr. Rivitz.

Mr. Rivitz has more than 38 years of experience in providing corporate, securities, and real estate counseling to middle market companies, real estate developers and owners, insurance companies, and financial institutions, particularly in buying and selling businesses and real property, private equity placements, and real estate syndications, joint ventures, and selling properties to REITs.

Mr. Rivitz serves as a Partner in the Real Estate and Corporate & Securities Practices at Kahn Kleinman. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University where he graduated cum laude, and is a graduate from Harvard Law School. He is a National Vice President of Organization for Rehabilitation & Training (ORT) and a life trustee, and counsel to, Menorah Park Center for Senior Living. He has served as the President of the American Counsel Association, and on the Board of Directors of Meritas (formerly Commercial Law Affiliates). Mr. Rivitz has been voted by his clients and peers as one of Ohio’s Super Lawyers® for 2004 and 2005 and as a Best Lawyer in America for 2005 and 2006, as were many of his partners in the firm.

“Rick Rivitz brings an impressive portfolio of accomplishments in his legal career and in association with Kahn Kleinman,” added Mr. DiPuccio. “Rick has led major, complex real estate and corporate transactions performed by Kahn Kleinman in Ohio and across the U.S. for more than 21 years. He knows the Kahn Kleinman culture. He knows where we are and how we got here. More importantly, he appreciates where Kahn Kleinman is going and how we will get there.”

Commenting on the partner’s selection of Mr. Rivitz as his successor as Managing Partner, Marc Morgenstern said: “I am extremely pleased that Rick Rivitz will succeed me as Managing Partner of Kahn Kleinman. His service and leadership on Executive Committee distinguishes him as an individual with an impressive professional experience and a broad business and financial background. Rick’s perspectives on significant strategic issues relating to the firm’s growth are invaluable.” Morgenstern recently accepted a position to be a leader in the San Francisco office of Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal.
