Three Morgenstein & Jubelirer Partners Named Northern California “Super Lawyers”
Morgenstein & Jubelirer is pleased to announce that partners Jean Bertrand, Bruce Wagman and John Worden have been named Northern California Super Lawyers by San Francisco Magazine, with Ms. Bertrand (2005) and Mr. Worden (2004) becoming two-time honorees. The Super Lawyer designation is given only to the top 4% of lawyers in California, as selected by their peers.

Ms. Bertrand is a trial lawyer with extensive experience, especially in the real estate and toxic tort fields. Mr. Wagman is a pioneer in the rapidly expanding field of animal law, as a litigator (winning the biggest civil animal cruelty case in the nation), educator (teaching animal law at four law schools), and author (responsible for the first casebook on the subject, now in its third edition); he also litigates in the areas of products liability defense, employment law, and insurance coverage. Mr. Worden’s practice focuses on insurance coverage, securities litigation and other commercial trial work – with a current trial winning streak of 15 straight spanning the past five years.

Modrall Sperling Announces New Shareholder
Michelle A. Hernandez has become a shareholder of Modrall Sperling. Michelle focuses her practice in nursing home litigation and insurance defense. She also practices education, employment, and civil rights law.

In addition, Michelle serves on the firm’s recruiting committee, the executive committee and the Board of Directors for the University of New Mexico Alumni Association and was a founding member of the UNM Young Alumni Association. She has been named in the 2005-2006 Who's Who in American Law and has participated in the H. Vearle Payne American Inns of Court. She recently served as a chief reporter for New Mexico First, a public policy think-tank, and is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Albuquerque, a community leadership program.

Prior to joining the firm, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Joseph F. Baca, Senior Justice for the New Mexico Supreme Court.

Michelle grew up in Albuquerque and attended Del Norte High School. She graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of New Mexico with a B.A. in political science in 1994 and received her Juris Doctor from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1997.

Michelle is the daughter of Stella Martinez. She is married to Jon Hernandez, a pharmacist at the Isleta Pueblo and they have a two-year old daughter, Mia Estella.

Two Modrall Sperling Shareholders Named as Members of Lawdragon 500

JOHN W. LEWIS, II AND PATRICIA L. DODGE NAMED 2006 PENNSYLVANIA SUPER LAWYERS
The law firm of Metz Lewis LLC, is proud to announce and congratulate John W. Lewis, II and Patricia L. Dodge on being named to the list of “Pennsylvania Super Lawyers” for 2005.

The Super Lawyers are the top five percent of Pennsylvania lawyers. Law & Politics magazine, which publishes the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers, uses a three-step selection process to decide which lawyers will receive the distinction of “Super Lawyers.” A general survey is sent to lawyers across Pennsylvania asking them to name the best lawyers they have personally observed in action. A review panel then scores the attorneys nominated in the general survey. Finally, an attorney-led independent research group grades the nominated lawyers based on ten criteria.

John W. Lewis, II, a graduate of West Virginia University College of Law where he was Executive Editor of the West Virginia Law Review. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Wheeling Jesuit College. Mr. Lewis has been appointed to the ABA's Joint Venture Task Force, which is drafting the ABA's Model Joint Venture Agreement. Patricia L. Dodge, a graduate of Duquesne University School of Law, concentrates her practice on the litigation of commercial and business disputes, land use litigation and the defense of products liability, civil rights and other property and casualty claims. She has substantial trial experience in federal and state courts in a number of jurisdictions. She also acts as a private arbitrator and mediator in business, construction and commercial disputes. Ms. Dodge is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, where she has served two terms on its Board of Governors. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh Law School, where she currently teaches advanced trial evidence. Ms. Dodge also serves as President of the Thornburg Borough Council.

Merchant & Gould Ranks as Top Trademark Filer
Merchant & Gould, an intellectual property and litigation law firm, announced that it has been named as one of the top trademark law firms in the United States in a recent Trademark Insider ® report. This is the third consecutive year the firm has topped the list . The ranking appears in NameProtect's Trademark Insider®, First Quarter 2006, a publication that tracks trademark filing activity with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
