Ryan Luft Joins Tuggle Duggins
Ryan Luft recently joined Tuggle Duggins as an Associate. Ryan is a member of the Dispute Resolution & Litigation practice group and focuses on resolving commercial and general business disputes. He has represented clients in a wide variety of litigation matters in state and federal courts.

Prior to joining Tuggle Duggins, Ryan practiced with Dickstein Shapiro Morin & Oshinsky, LLP, in New York and Washington, DC. He also worked as an associate with Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP. David Ford Joins Hutchens, Senter & Britton
The Law Firm of Hutchens, Senter & Britton, P.A., a creditors’ rights and civil litigation law firm based in North Carolina, announces that David R. Ford has joined the Firm as an associate. Jim McLarney Receives Judge James A. Moore Award
Jim McLarney, retired but still a very active member of Swanson Midgley, and his brother Pat were awarded the Judge James A. Moore Award by the Lawyers Association of Kansas City. The Award recognizes individuals who exemplify generosity of spirit and deep concern for others throughout their work as an attorney. The presentation noted that Jim is active in Visitation Church, President of the 4-H Foundation, Optimist Youth Association, Rotary Club, St. Joseph Health Center, Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, LAKC, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and Legal Aid of Western Missouri. With his brother, Jim founded the Little Flower Neighborhood Justice Center at 58th and Euclid, which serves the needs of the neighborhood.

Two New Associates Join the San Diego Office
The firm is pleased to announce the addition of two new associates, David Estes and Gilbert S. Hernandez. Both Mr. Estes and Mr. Hernandez will be working out of the San Diego office.

Mr. Estes will focus his practice in the areas of education law, government entities, and general civil litigation. In addition to his civil litigation experience, Mr. Estes formerly served as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Diego and practiced as a criminal defense attorney. Mr. Estes is a member of the San Diego Defense Lawyers Association and the San Diego County Bar.

Mr. Hernandez's practice focuses on civil litigation and advisory with an emphasis on business, employment, public entity and education matters. Mr. Hernandez held a variety of positions in the supply chain management industry where he worked on business development and best practices. His corporate experience includes developing long-term contracts, publishing policies and procedures, logistics and labor relations. Mr. Hernandez is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, California Young Lawyers and San Diego Defense Lawyers Association. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Stutz Artiano Shinoff & Holtz is pleased to announce James J. Smedley has joined the Las Vegas Office.

Mr. Smedley's practice focuses on insurance and general civil litigation, with an emphasis in personal injury litigation and construction defect matters. Mr Smedley's legal experience also includes criminal law, mental health law, and medical malpractice. Prior to joining the firm, he had interned with the mental Health Patient Advocacy Program in San Diego, California, the Vista County Public Defender's Office in Vista, California, and the Federal Public Defender's Office in Reno, Nevada.
