Four WC&C Lawyers Named "Rising Stars"
Four Wasserman, Comden & Casselman L.L.P. lawyers have been named ""Rising Stars"" by Law & Politics and Los Angeles Magazines: Shannon M. Blair (Workers Compensation); Aster C. Chang (Family Law); Tim T. Chang (Corporate Finance); and Stephanie Shen Hsieh (Estate Planning/Trusts).

The Southern California Rising Stars list was published in the September 2005 issue of Los Angeles Magazine, and was mailed to every lawyer, judge and corporate counsel in the state.

Only 2.5% of all Southern California lawyers receive this honor. ""Rising Stars"" are nominated by this year's Super Lawyers (the top 5% of attorneys in the state), who are asked to vote for the best attorneys who are either age 40 or younger, or have been in practice 10 years or less. An attorney-led research team then reviews the credentials of potential Rising Stars and assigns points based on a set of defined evaluation criteria. The research staff also confirms that nominees are properly licensed, in good standing with the State Bar , and, when possible, that they have no history of disciplinary action that would warrant removal from the list. The point totals from the general survey and research process are then added to arrive at a final tally. The lawyers are ranked by point totals and the list is cut until approximately 2.5 percent of the best up-and-coming attorneys in the state remain. The Rising Stars lists include both private practice attorneys and attorneys in non-private practice areas such as prosecutors, in-house counsel, judges and public service lawyers.

Founded in 1976, WC&C has approximately 40 attorneys and four offices in Southern California. The firm specializes in various areas of law, including Pacific Basin business, corporate, finance, real estate, taxation, technology, insurance, employment, workers compensation, estate planning, probate, trademark, licensing, family law, complex civil and criminal litigation and appeals, and class action litigation. Shannon Blair is based at the firm's Tarzana office, while Aster Chang, Tim Chang and Stephanie Hsieh are based at the firm's Alhambra office.
