Jennifer Adams Named Partner
Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P. announced today that Jennifer Kincaid Adams has been named a partner in the firm. Jennie joined the firm in March, 1999, and works out of the Louisville office, concentrating her practice in the areas of medical malpractice, pharmaceutical litigation, and legal malpractice. She also practices in the areas of premises liability, product liability, and criminal defense. Her work includes defending lawyers, doctors, allied health professionals, psychologists, nurses, pharmaceutical companies, and other professionals in matters ranging from general negligence to intentional torts to alleged criminal acts.

After graduating from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 1995, Jennie worked for the Jefferson County Public Defender in the adult and capital trial divisions. She represented hundreds of indigent criminal defendants, including several charged with capital offenses. Over the course of her career, she has trained at several prominent trial practice institutes, including the National Criminal Defense College’s Trial Practice Institute in Macon, Georgia, the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy in Boulder, Colorado, and three trial practice institutes in Kentucky. She has tried more than 25 jury trials including three capital murder cases. She is admitted in all state and federal courts in Kentucky as well as the United States District Court, Southern District of Indiana.

Jennie is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association, the American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is also deeply committed to her community. As a member of the Jefferson Community and Technical College Foundation Board, she supports the programs of the college in hopes of making higher education available to everyone. She also serves on the attorney steering committee for Citizens for Better Judges, an organization formed to maintain and improve the quality of the judiciary in Jefferson County. She is a graduate of Ignite Louisville.

Partner, Jill F. Endicott, Elected to Board of Directors of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
Jill F. Endicott, a partner in the Louisville office of Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P., has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Kentuckiana Chapter. JDRF is the leading source of charitable funding for juvenile (type 1) diabetes research worldwide and has provided more than $800 million to diabetes research since its founding in 1970. JDRF is the only major diabetes organization focused exclusively on research with over 85% of all donations going to research and education.

Jill joined Woodward, Hobson & Fulton in 1994 and practices civil litigation at the firm in the areas of commercial litigation, toxic tort litigation, professional liability defense, and constitutional law. Jill’s accomplishments include significant work in the course of representing the Kentucky Commissioner of Insurance in his capacity as the Liquidator of Kentucky Central Life Insurance Company. Throughout the course of the representation, Jill served as co-lead counsel to secure reversal by the Kentucky Court of Appeals of a trial court’s order denying the enforceability of approximately $100 million in personal guaranties owed to the Liquidator. She now serves as lead counsel on the remand of this case for trial. Jill also served as co-lead counsel to the Liquidator and prepared all of the written materials for mediation in the Bank of Louisville case, which resulted in the recovery of a $27 million settlement to the Liquidator.

Kathryn A. Quesenberry Elected to the Board of Directors for ALFA International
Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P. announced today that Kathryn A. Quesenberry, a partner in its Louisville office, has been elected to the Board of Directors of ALFA International, an international association of independent law firms. Founded in 1980, ALFA has 120 member firms with 85 firms in the United States and 35 in Europe, Latin America, and the Pacific Rim. ALFA is the oldest legal network that provides the clients of ALFA firms with comprehensive geographic network of exceptional law firms. ALFA’s Management Team is comprised of four officers, including a Chair and Vice-Chair, and an 11 person Board of Directors. Together with the ALFA staff, the Management Team provides oversight of member firms, evaluates firm candidates for membership, and directs the financial resources of the organization.

Kathy Quesenberry practices employment and discrimination law in a variety of forums, including administrative agencies, and state and federal courts. She provides advice and counsel to employers on personnel policies and procedures, employee discipline, and sexual harassment investigations. Her clients range from national and international corporations to small family-owned businesses. She frequently lectures on employment law at seminars and conferences sponsored by various professional and business organizations, including the Kentucky Defense Counsel, the University of Kentucky Employment Institute and Chamber of Commerce groups.

Kathy is currently Chair of the Kentucky Bar Association's Labor and Employment Section. She is also a member of the ALFA Labor and Employment Practice Group. Kathy is a member of the Louisville and the Kentucky Bar Associations, and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, as well as the federal Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is currently listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2005-2006 in the practice area of “Labor and Employment Law.”

Appointed by Mayor Abramson, Kathy is currently Vice-Chair of the Louisville Metro Government Ethics Commission, which enforces ethics laws governing Metro Officials. Kathy has also served on the Police Administration Advisory Committee, which is charged by ordinance with evaluating the Louisville Division of Police Chief, and on the Police Internal Affairs Review Board. In addition to her practice, Kathy provides pro bono legal services to The Center for Women and Families, which provides crisis shelter and assistance to abused women and their children. In 1996, she was honored by the Center with the Mary Rudd Volunteer Service Award. In 2002, Kathy was honored by the American Red Cross, Louisville Area Chapter as an Outstanding Volunteer for Human Resources. Donna King Perry Receives Alumni Award From the University of Louisville
Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P. announced today that its Managing Partner, Donna King Perry, was among the Alumni Award recipients Monday evening at the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law 2005 Law Alumni Banquet & John Marshall Harlan Lecture. Each year, the Law School chooses three to five distinguished alumni to receive this coveted award.

Donna practices at Woodward, Hobson & Fulton in the areas of labor, employment and general litigation including all aspects of pre-litigation investigation, evidence and witness preparation, trial and appellate work, and responding and participating in agency investigations. Donna provides training to management, supervisory and human resources personnel and is a regular speaker at continuing legal education seminars.

Donna is trained in mediation and alternative methods of dispute resolution. She is a member of the American, Kentucky and Louisville Bar Associations, the Jefferson County Women Lawyers Association, the Louis D. Brandeis American Inn of Court, and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2005-2006 in two areas of practice: “Alternative Dispute Resolution” and “Labor and Employment Law.” Donna is a Past President of the Jefferson County Women Lawyers Association, former member of the Legal Aid Society and Louisville Diversified Services Boards of Directors, current member of the Actors Theatre Advisory Board, and a 2005 graduate of Leadership Louisville. New Associates July 2006
Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P. announced today that Tricia A. Shackelford and Kara M. Stewart have joined the firm in their Lexington office. Tricia will practice in the area of business organizations with her primary areas of practice to include health and corporate law. Kara returns to the Lexington office and continues her practice in the areas of product liability and commercial litigation.

After spending several years in the health law practice of McBrayer, McGinnis, Leslie & Kirkland, Tricia most recently worked with the Lexington business and healthcare communities as a solo practitioner through the Shackelford Law Office. Tricia’s experience covers a wide range of work with healthcare topics, from issuing legal opinions to representation of physicians, healthcare professionals, hospitals, nursing homes and retirement communities.

Tricia is licensed to practice law in Kentucky, Florida, and the District of Columbia, and is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Fayette County Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar and American Health Lawyers Association. She is frequently asked to speak on a wide variety of health law and corporate law topics. In addition, Tricia will serve as an adjunct professor at the University of Kentucky’s College of Health Sciences this fall. She serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors of Spindletop Hall and the Public Policy Chair of the National Association of Women Business Owners.

Kara Stewart originally joined the Lexington office at Woodward, Hobson & Fulton as an associate in 1999. The majority of her practice is in the area of product liability, in which she represents automobile, recreational product, household appliance and pharmaceutical manufacturers. She also practices in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance defense, premises liability and general litigation.

Kara was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 1999. She is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Kentucky, as well as the federal Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association (section memberships include Tort and Insurance, Civil Litigation) and the Fayette County Bar Association (section memberships include Young Lawyers and Women Lawyers). She is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Kentucky Defense Counsel. In addition, Kara has taught litigation skills as an adjunct professor at the University of Kentucky College of Law.

James B. Flowers Joins the Firm
James B. Flowers joined Willingham & Coté, P.C., in November 2005. Mr. Flowers specializes in commercial litigation, professional malpractice defense and insurance coverage law. In his previous law practice, Mr. Flowers focused on a wide range of legal matters including real estate transactions, family law, estate planning, criminal defense and administrative law issues. He has appeared in Michigan courts statewide, in Federal courts and before state and local agencies.

Mr. Flowers received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Chapman University, Orange, CA in 1987 cum laude. He received his law degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1997, and was admitted to practice with the State Bar of Michigan. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. Prior to his admission to practice law, Mr. Flowers was a probation officer for the 60th District Court, Friend of the Court Investigator for the 14th and 51st Circuit Courts, and a systems technical analyst for the Michigan State Court Administrator's Office.

Mr. Flowers is a Captain in the Michigan Army National Guard and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his 2003-2004 Operation Iraqi Freedom service. He is a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion.
