Ford Recalls 3.6 Million Additional Vehicles Due to Switch Fire Danger
Ford Motor Company expanded a recall of millions of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury cars, trucks and SUVs built from 1992-2004 due to a defective cruise control switch. The faulty cruise control switch, which can corrode over time and ignite, has been linked to thousands of fires. Under pressure from the National Highway Transportation Safety Agency, Ford has recalled a total of 10.4 million vehicles in relation to this issue. Lieff Cabraser represents

Schiff Hardin LLP Welcomes Thurston C. Bailey as an Associate in the Labor and Employment Group of the Chicago Office
Thurston C. Bailey has joined Schiff Hardin LLP as an associate in the Labor and Employment Group from Winstead, P.C. (Houston, Texas) where he was an associate.

Mr. Bailey concentrates his practice in labor and employment law. He has extensive experience advising clients in matters concerning labor and employment litigation and general civil litigation. He has also advised and represented employers in matters regarding federal and state laws and regulations related to Title VII, the National Labor Relations Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and other federal and state statutes.

Mr. Bailey has also assisted employer clients in dealing with administrative agencies such as the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission (EEOC), state anti-discrimination agencies, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

Mr. Bailey graduated from the University of Chicago (B.A., Public Policy Studies, 1993) and the University of Michigan Law School (J.D., 1998)

Mr. Abendroth was recognized for his writings for the American Bankers Association’s Trust and Investments magazine.

Holland & Hart Expands Project Development & Finance Practice
Holland & Hart LLP welcomes Billi McCullough and Maureen McInerney to its Project Development and Finance practice in Denver.

McCullough has extensive experience in domestic and international project development and finance transactions. Her experience is strongly focused in the energy, natural resources, and telecommunications industries. She has restructured more than $2 billion in debt and equity in complex transactions, structured and negotiated a variety of joint venture arrangements, worked with buyers and sellers of assets as well as public and private companies and has participated in privatizations, secured licenses, and coordinated regulatory compliance. Prior to rejoining the team at Holland & Hart LLP she served as the Chief Corporate Development Officer and General Counsel for an application service provider in the commercial construction industry and as General Counsel for a telecommunications company conducting activities in various Latin American countries. She earned her J.D. (1994) cum laude from Cornell Law School and her B.A. (1991) cum laude from Wellesley College.

McInerney currently advises clients in the development of renewable energy facilities, negotiating agreements relating to site acquisition and control as well as other aspects of project development and finance. Prior to joining the firm, McInerney was a corporate finance associate with Norton Rose in London focusing on Rule 144A/Regulation S transactions and the establishment of American depositary receipt programs. Most recently she served as a volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps as an English professor in southwest China. She received her J.D. (1998) from the University of Denver College of Law and her B.A. (1995) cum laude from the University of California, Riverside.

The Project Development and Finance Group of Holland & Hart represents a variety of national and global clients in connection with the development, construction, financing and operation of infrastructure facilities, especially in energy generation and transmission. In particular, the group is a national leader in renewable energy development and finance with substantial experience in wind, solar, biomass and hydroelectric generating facilities and ethanol production facilities.

Radio Reappointed to Minnesota CLE Post
Thomas J. Radio, a partner in the Minneapolis office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, has been reappointed by the Minnesota Supreme Court as Chair of the Minnesota State Board of Continuing Legal Education. He served his first term as Chair from 2006-2007. The Supreme Court first appointed Mr. Radio to the 12-member Board, as a general member, in 2001.

The Board, which oversees the administration of Minnesota’s Rules for Continuing Legal Education, is responsible for: accrediting continuing legal education courses presented in Minnesota and elsewhere; administering the process by which attorneys’ continuing legal education credits are reported; and administering the process by which attorneys are removed from “active status” for failure to complete continuing legal education.
