Wiggin and Dana Partner Jack Dunham Installed as Chief of ABA's Forum on Franchising
Wiggin and Dana LLP is pleased to announce that partner Jack Dunham has become Chair of the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising. Dunham, named as one of the top four U.S. franchise attorneys in this year’s Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, will serve as Forum Chair for a two-year term. The ABA Forum on Franchising is the preeminent organization dedicated to the legal aspects of franchising.

“We’re very pleased that Jack has been recognized with this selection,” said firm Chair Maureen Weaver. “He has already played a significant role in the development of franchise law, particularly case law, and will no doubt contribute immensely to current thought and practice during his tenure as Chair of the Forum.”

“This is a great honor and I’m very much looking forward to serving the Forum’s diverse membership.” said Dunham. “Franchising is an enormous engine of the American economy, and the Forum plays a crucial role in examining all the ways that our legal system affects franchising.”

A respected litigator, Dunham is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and previously served a four year term as Chair of Wiggin and Dana. He represents leading franchisors on matters ranging from disputes with franchisees and area developers to cases involving IP infringement, trade secrets, antitrust, product recall, and employment discrimination. In naming him one of only four “Band 1” franchise lawyers in the country, the Chambers USA 2007 noted Dunham’s “substantial contribution to franchise law” and quoted interviewees for the ranking who described him as “a terrific writer” and “persuasive and forensic” in court.

Dunham received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and holds a B.A. from Trinity College.
