John T. Gutkoski Named Partner
Day, Berry & Howard LLP, a leading full-service law firm with offices in Boston, New York, Connecticut and Washington D.C., announced today that it has elevated John Gutkoski to the position of partner in the firm's Boston office, effective January 1, 2007. Gutkoski's election is a testament to the firm's focus on growing each office's strong leadership capabilities.

Gutkoski focuses his practice in the areas of patent and intellectual property litigation. He represents companies in national and international disputes involving pharmaceuticals, electronic circuits, sound waves, lasers, semiconductors, telecommunications, and mechanical engineering.

Gutkoski has represented several first-impression issues in the patent, trademark and copyright field, including the first case in the country to support the validity of "shrink-wrap," "click-on" and "web-wrap" licenses, contracts and warrantees for protecting software and electronic data. Formerly associated with Hale and Dorr LLP and a special assistant district attorney for Middlesex County, Gutkoski has been with Day, Berry & Howard for three years.

Gutkoski is a member of the American, Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations. Gutkoski received his B.A. from Boston University, where he graduated magna cum laude with distinction and his J.D. from New York University School of Law. He currently lives in Charlestown, Massachusetts.

Marc J. Yudkin Joins Riker Danzig's Corporate Group
Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti LLP is pleased to announce that Marc J. Yudkin has joined the firm's corporate group as an associate.

Marc J. Yudkin practices in Riker Danzig's Corporate Group, with an emphasis in mergers and acquisitions, stock and asset purchase agreements, regulatory issues, private equity, and counseling firms of all sizes on various corporate and business matters including matters relating to the company's operations, governance and financing. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations and has previously served as the chair of the Corporate Committee of the Essex County Bar Association.

Mr. Yudkin earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 2002 and his B.A. from SUNY Binghamton in 1999. While pursuing his law degree, he was an Executive Board Member of the Emory University Bankruptcy Developments Journal. Katherine Ovalle and Elizabeth Wadsworth Join Eckert Seamans in Washington, D.C.
The national law firm of Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott, LLC today announced that attorneys Katherine G. Ovalle and Elizabeth J. Wadsworth have joined the firm.

Katherine G. Ovalle joins as an Associate of the firm in the Business Division of the Washington, D.C. office. She focuses her practice on aviation and aerospace law. Prior to joining Eckert Seamans, Ms. Ovalle was Associate Counsel at the United States Department of Transportation, Office of Inspector General. She earned her law degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 2004 and her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester in 1999. While attending law school, Ms. Ovalle clerked for the United States Attorneys Office in Maryland. She is admitted to practice in New York and is a member of the Tax Section and Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and a member of the New York State Bar Association. Ms. Ovalle is fluent in Spanish and resides in Alexandria, Virginia.

Elizabeth J. Wadsworth joins as an Associate in the Business Division of the Washington, D.C. office. She focuses her practice on aviation and aerospace law. Prior to joining Eckert Seamans, Ms. Wadsworth worked as an associate attorney for four years with a small firm in Washington, D.C. specializing in aviation regulatory and commercial issues. Before entering private practice, she served two consecutive judicial clerkships with the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois, and also worked as a research attorney for the Sixth Judicial District of Illinois. Ms. Wadsworth received her Master of Laws in International and Comparative Law from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2001 and her Juris Doctorate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1992. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 1987. Ms. Wadsworth is admitted to practice in Illinois and the District of Columbia. She resides in Washington, D.C.
