Ms. King’s practice areas include premises/security liability, liquor liability, casino litigation, automobile negligence and self-insured retentions. Mr. Malleis handles cases involving premises liability, insurance defense, and no-fault litigation. Ms. Robertson is primarily focused on appellate practice and insurance defense.

Hall Quoted about Fishers Bond Issue
Rick Hall of the Indianapolis office was quoted in a December 7 Indianapolis Star article, "$9.6 million bond sold for development," about a bond issue for infrastructure improvements in the Town of Fishers.

SCHIFF HARDIN LLP WELCOMES MICHAEL J. LOTUS AS COUNSEL IN THE CHICAGO OFFICE
Schiff Hardin LLP has added Michael J. Lotus as counsel in the Construction Group in the Chicago office. He joins our firm from the Winston & Strawn in Chicago, where he was a partner.

Mr. Lotus applies his extensive experience in a wide range of commercial cases to a broad array of construction disputes.

His pro bono work has included first chairing the defense of a criminal matter in a jury trial. He also has handled personal injury cases.

Mr. Lotus received his undergraduate degree (A.B., Economics, 1985) from the University of Chicago and his law degree (J.D., cum laude, 1993) from Indiana University Law School, where he was a member of the Indiana Law Journal. He was a judicial clerk for the Honorable Michael S. Kanne, U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit (September 1993 - August 1994).

He is admitted to practice in Illinois, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Kathleen A. Stephenson Elected Chair of Phildelphia Bar Association's Probate and Trust Law Section
Kathleen A. Stephenson, of counsel with Pepper Hamilton LLP, has been elected chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Probate and Trust Law Section for 2007.

Ms. Stephenson concentrates her practice in the fields of estate planning and administration and related tax work. She is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Ms. Stephenson is an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association. She has served on the Probate Section’s Executive Committee, as chair of the section’s Legislative Committee and its Rules and Practice Committee, and as a member of the section’s special committee for Alternative Dispute Resolution. Ms. Stephenson also is a past member of the board of directors of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council.

The Philadelphia Bar Association’s Probate and Trust Law Section promotes the Association’s objective to improve justice in probate and trust law areas. The Section maintains standing committees focusing on education, elder law, legislation, office procedures and technology, publications, public service, rules and practice, and taxation which are geared toward helping section members maximize their professional skills.

McGlinchey Attorneys Perrault and Chick Produce Fifty State Survey on Motor Vehicle GAP Waiver/Debt Cancellation
J. P. Perrault and Jennifer Chick of the firm’s Baton Rouge office recently prepared a fifty state survey on the laws relating to the financing of GAP (Guaranteed Auto/Asset Protection) and Debt Waiver/Cancellation products for the Equipment Leasing Association. Such products may be offered in connection with the financing of a motor vehicle and are becoming more popular with customers. The survey provides commonly used industry definitions, and statutory references and other citations applicable to GAP insurance and GAP waivers in all fifty states. The survey, prepared by Perrault and Chick, was underwritten by Volvo Financial Services and Daimler Chrysler Truck Financial.

Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw advises Management in a management buy-out of Nicholl Food Packaging Limited
International law firm Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP's London corporate and employment groups have advised the existing management of Nicholl Food Packaging Limited in a management buy-out of the company, in which management took a 20% stake of the company through a shareholding in an acquisition vehicle set up for this purpose.

The Audax Group, a US-based private equity firm, took the majority stake in Nicholl Food Packaging Limited, a UK-based leading supplier of aluminum foil containers to the European food sector, with operations in the UK, France and Belgium, through a majority shareholding in the acquisition vehicle. The value of the transaction remains confidential. The deal was completed on 24 November 2006.

Wilson Nicholl, the current majority shareholder of Nicholl Food Packaging Limited, also retains an interest in Nicholl Food Packaging Limited through a shareholding in the acquisition vehicle.

The Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP team advising the management was led by London corporate partner Andrew Copley and supported by corporate assistant Rodney Edgerton. London partner Louise Hobbs advised on employment related matters and was assisted in London by Laura Penny and in Paris by associate Lionel Paraire.

Other advisers for the management team included: Jamieson Corporate Finance LLP (financial advisers); Deloittes (tax advice), Van Olmen Wynant (Belgian employment legal counsel) and Elvinger Hoss et Prussen (Luxembourg legal counsel).

Kirkland & Ellis advised Audax. Pinsent Masons advised the sellers of Nicholl Food Packaging Limited.
