Day Pitney Welcomes Francine Esposito as Partner
"Day Pitney LLP, a leading full-service law firm with offices in Boston, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington D.C., announced today that Francine Esposito recently joined the firm as partner in the Florham Park office. Ms.
Esposito will be a member of the Labor and Employment Department and will focus primarily on traditional labor law, client training and employment counseling.

“Francine is a tremendous talent with deep knowledge and experience of the trends and issues affecting today’s labor market,” said Dennis LaFiura, co-chair of Day Pitney’s executive committee. “The addition of Francine further strengthens Day Pitney’s Labor and Employment Department, and is a prime example of the type of key hire we are making to grow our team to best serve our clients.”

Ms. Esposito brings over twenty years of experience as a labor and employment practitioner. Prior to joining Day Pitney, Ms. Esposito was a partner at Fox Rothschild and at the labor law boutique of Grotta Glassman & Hoffman preceding its merger with Fox Rothschild. Before becoming a lawyer, she worked as a Human Resources/Labor Relations professional for such
major corporations as PSE&G and Nabisco Brands.

Her practice spans across a range of industries, including banking, hospitality, media, health care, telecommunications, retail, casinos, accounting, engineering and construction, and education. Additionally, Ms. Esposito has conducted training throughout the country and internationally, assisting employers to minimize the types of manager mistakes that would otherwise result in liability and/or other harms to their businesses.

Ms. Esposito earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations and her J.D. from Rutgers-Newark Law School. Ms. Esposito is admitted to practice in the state of New Jersey as well as in New York federal courts. She is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Sections of the American and New Jersey Bar Associations and the Society of Human Resources Management."

Holme Roberts & Owen Celebrates Jim Bye Day
More than 150 employees of the law firm of Holme Roberts & Owen LLP will volunteer at various Mile High United Way agencies this Saturday, August 25th, to celebrate the life of Jim Bye.

Mr. Bye was a lawyer at HRO for nearly 50 years and died on April 24, 2007. He will be remembered for many extraordinary accomplishments, but his commitment to the community and volunteerism, however, stand out among them.

The members of HRO could find no better way to honor his memory than to devote a day to what Jim Bye cared about most—the community. In addition, the firm will donate $25,000 to Denver’s Road Home at a post-event celebration to be held at 1700 Lincoln Street (on the Sherman Street side of the building) from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.

Roxane White from Denver’s Department of Health and Human Services will read the Mayor’s proclamation which officially designates August 25th, 2007, as Jim Bye Day. Comments will also be made by Juan Botello of the Mile High United Way and Alex Ritchie, partner at HRO. Jim Bye’s daughter, Anne Bye Rowe, will also make comment

Stites & Harbison Ranked Top Law Firm in Southeast on Job Satisfaction Survey
An independent survey from a prestigious national law magazine ranks Stites & Harbison as the top law firm in the Southeast for job satisfaction.

The American Lawyer's 2007 Midlevel Associates Survey evaluated 11 areas that contribute to job satisfaction including relations with partners and other associates; the interest and satisfaction level associates have in their work, training and guidance; policy on billables; management openness about firm strategies and partnership chances; compensation and benefits; and the respondents' inclination to stay at their firm for at least two more years.

"We're proud to receive such positive feedback from our associates," said Jeanne Picht, Director of Professional Development and Recruiting for Stites & Harbison. "Not only are we thrilled to be ranked so highly in these areas, but also that such a high percentage of our associates participated in the survey. Our 74 percent response rate allows us to put more credence in our ranking."

"The survey results reflect our commitment to attract and retain professionals who share the firm's values and vision," said Chairman Kennedy Helm III.

The ranking in The American Lawyer's 2007 Midlevel Associates Survey continues a recent string of honors for Stites & Harbison. Other awards the firm has received include:
