Wexberg Named "Rainmaker" by Northern Ohio Live
Calfee partner, Marcia J. Wexberg, was selected as a 2007 Rainmaker by Northern Ohio Live for her leadership skills and business acumen.

Wexberg is now in her fifth year as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and chairs the Estate Planning & Administration practice.

“Marcia Wexberg is a wonderful example of what it means to be a rainmaker and a true professional. Marcia’s total dedication to her craft and to the people she serves has manifested itself in so many ways,” states Brent D. Ballard, Calfee’s Managing Partner. “For example, Marcia is one of the most successful estate planning lawyers in the nation as a result of the great work she has performed for clients for the last 25 years. Marcia’s reputation as a great lawyer has been the major catalyst in her ability to attract new clients; people simply want Marcia as their lawyer and trusted advisor. Having the ability to generate additional work through existing client referrals is the true measure of success in our business. Marcia personifies this success.”

Wexberg also focuses on recruiting, mentoring and promoting women within and beyond her own practice at Calfee. She regularly meets with new female attorneys to discuss the intangibles of how to succeed in a law firm environment and makes a concerted effort to periodically meet with more seasoned female associates and young partners to offer support and guidance, both personally and professionally.

In addition to her work within the firm, Wexberg is a recognized leader within the community, associated with The Benjamin Rose Institute, is the inaugural chair of the Diamond Advisory Group of University Hospitals, and is the founding chair of the Professional Advisory Committee and member of the board of trustees of the Jewish Community Federation. She has been involved with the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Planned Giving Council, the Hawken School Board, and Leadership Cleveland - along with countless other organizations.

In 2007, 11 other recipients were chosen for the Rainmaker Award. The Rainmakers initiative is supported by KeyBank4Women, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Westfield Insurance, Judson at University Circle, YWCA of Greater Cleveland, WKSU, Baldwin-Wallace College, John Carroll University, Cleveland State University and Ursuline College. Recipients will be honored at the 10th Annual Northern Ohio Live Rainmakers Breakfast. Proceeds from ticket sales support Rainmakers of Tomorrow scholarships and are awarded to four female students pursuing MBAs at sponsor colleges.
