Mary Webb joins the firm's Raleigh office
McAngus Goudelock & Courie, LLC is pleased to announce that Mary Webb has joined the firm as a member of the Raleigh office. Her practice focuses on civil defense litigation including the areas of personal injury defense, products liability, professional malpractice, construction law, and insurance coverage disputes.

Mary graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 1989, and received her Juris Doctorate from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 1992. She has tried numerous cases in both the State and Federal courts of North Carolina. Mary is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and its litigation section, the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, and the Wake County Bar Association.

Lori Jones joins the firm's Raleigh office
McAngus Goudelock & Courie, LLC is pleased to announce that Lori Jones has joined the firm’s Raleigh office. She concentrates her practice in the area of civil litigation including the areas of personal injury defense, construction litigation, and insurance coverage disputes.

Lori received her Bachelor of Science degree in zoology and Bachelor of Arts in multi-disciplinary studies from North Carolina State University where she was a Thomas Jefferson Scholar. She continued her graduate education at North Carolina State University where she received her Master of Zoology degree. Lori graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law. While in law school, she served on the North Carolina Law Review. Lori also was on the National Moot Court Team. She is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts in North Carolina. Lori is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, and the Defense Research Institute.

Isaac "Ike" Johnson joins the firm's Greenville office
McAngus Goudelock & Courie, LLC is pleased to announce that Ike Johnson has joined the firm as a member of the Greenville office. He practices in the area of litigation including criminal defense, personal injury, business tort, products liability, premises liability, and insurance coverage.

Ike received his Bachelors degree from the University of South Carolina in 1981, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1986. He is a former Assistant Solicitor for the Eighth and Thirteenth Judicial Circuits. In the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, Ike was a violent crimes prosecutor and was the first prosecutor to serve as advisor and liaison to all law enforcement agencies in Greenville County. He is also a former Assistant United States Attorney for the District of South Carolina. As a federal prosecutor he prosecuted violent crimes and narcotics cases. Ike is a graduate of Leadership Greenwood. He serves as a member of the South Carolina Board of Optometry. Ike is also a board member of the Urban League of the Upstate, and Communities in Schools of Greenville County. He is a member of the Greenville County Chamber of Commerce. Ike is admitted to practice in the South Carolina Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

CBLH Names Henry D. Windmoeller as Chief Operating Officer
Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz LLP has named Henry (“Hank”) D. Windmoeller as its Chief Operating Officer.

Hank brings to CBLH a wealth of experience in the legal service business. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Akerman Senterfitt, a 500 attorney law firm based in Orlando, Florida. He has previously held high-level administrative positions in other law firms in the Washington DC and Philadelphia metropolitan areas, including Cozen O’Connor, Wilmer Cutler and Dechert.

Hank is a certified public accountant and holds a masters degree in Accountancy and Business Administration from the University of Denver Graduate School of Business.

As Chief Operating Officer, he will report directly to the firm’s Managing Partner and will oversee the day to day administration of the firm.

According to the firm’s Managing Partner, Jeffrey B. Bove, “Hank’s appointment is part of the firm's long term strategic plan. Our success and growth has been tremendous and we are positioning the firm for the future. Weil Gotshal Represents PolyMedica Corporation in its $1.5 Billion Acquisition by Medco Health Solutions, Inc.
Medco Health Solutions, Inc., the nation’s leading pharmacy benefit manager, announced that it will acquire PolyMedica Corporation for $1.5 billion. Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP represented PolyMedica, the nation's largest provider of blood glucose testing supplies and related services to people with diabetes, in the transaction. The deal, which is expected to close late this year, will result in the creation of the nation’s premier provider of comprehensive diabetes care and treatment.

The Weil Gotshal team working on this matter included partners James Westra, Steven Peck, Conrad Bahlke, Todd Chandler, Andrew Gaines, William Horton, Scott Sontag and Jeffrey Osterman, counsel John Sipple Jr. and associates Cody Tibbetts, Noel Young, Jennifer Wolff, Alison Bornstein, Kristen Buppert, Steven Seltzer, Benjamin Goodman, Meg Brown and Gretchen Toorock.

Paul Hastings Retained by Bulgarian State-Owned Entities in Development and Financing of a Historic Crude Oil Pipeline Project
Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker LLP, a leading international law firm, announced today that the firm has been retained by the Bulgarian state-owned entities in the negotiation and financing of the historic Burgas Alexandroupolis Pipeline Project. Being jointly developed by the Republic of Bulgaria, the Russian Federation and the Hellenic Republic, the crude oil pipeline will transport Russian and Caspian Sea-sourced oil from the Bulgarian Black Sea port of Burgas to the Greek Aegean port of Alexandroupolis. The pipeline will provide an alternative to tanker traffic through the Bosphorous Straights, and will enable Russian and Kazakh crude oil to reach world markets.

Under the agreement, the project participants will form an International Project Company whose shares will be owned 51% by the Russian Participant, 24.5% by the Bulgarian Participant and 24.5% by the Greek Participants. Paul Hastings Global Projects Group will assist namely with negotiation and drafting of the Shareholders Agreement, core Project Agreements and financing-related matters.

Global Projects partners Jon Simpson, Mark Lewis and Liubomir Roglev are leading the Paul Hastings team.

Cozen O’Connor Attorneys Named 2007 Lawyers on the Fast Track
Cozen O’Connor attorneys Hayes A. Hunt, Elena Park and Scott W. Reid have been named 2007 “Lawyers on the Fast Track” by American Lawyer Media, appearing in the Legal Intelligencer.

A member in the Philadelphia office, Hunt practices in the firm's white collar and complex criminal defense practice, focuses on the representation of individuals and corporations charged with violations of various federal and state criminal law. Hunt has a diverse legal background in criminal law, civil litigation and teaching. He has tried numerous cases to verdict in both criminal and civil matters.

A member of the firm’s Professional Training and CLE Committee, Hunt has been actively involved in the development of trial advocacy training programs and has created and presented numerous vignette advocacy programs dealing with trial and deposition skills. He was the Program Director for the 2007 Inaugural Cozen O’Connor Trial Academy and also created the 2006 Subrogation Deposition Skills and Trial Advocacy program. Hunt frequently serves as a faculty member for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.

Hunt is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (B.A., 1994) and Temple University Beasley School of Law (J.D., 1997). He was named a 2005 and 2006 Pennsylvania “Rising Star” by Law & Politics.

A member in the West Conshohocken office and head of the firm's immigration practice, Park concentrates her practice on all aspects of immigration law, with particular focus on business and employment immigration matters. She has extensive experience in representing multinational corporations, domestic companies, nonprofit institutions and investors seeking to employ foreign nationals in the U.S. for immigrant (permanent) or nonimmigrant (temporary) visas. She has represented clients on diverse immigration matters before the Department of Labor, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration Board of Appeals, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the EOIR, federal district court and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

A regular speaker on immigration law, Park is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and the Montgomery Bar Association. She is an active member of the firm's pro bono community, and she has received the Pennsylvania Bar Association Pro Bono Award and the Philadelphia Bar Association Gomez Award for Public Service for her pro bono immigration work. She was also recognized as a “Minority on the Verge” by The Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly in 2007.

Park is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.A., 1994) and Temple University Beasley School of Law (J.D., 1998), where she was articles editor of the Temple Political & Civil Rights Law Review. Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor in 1999, she was a law clerk for the Hon. Murray C. Goldman of the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia.

An associate in the Philadelphia office, Reid practices with the general litigation department. He focuses his practice on product liability and complex tort litigation.

Reid is a member of the American Bar Association, National Bar Association, Barristers Association of Philadelphia and Philadelphia Area Defense Counsel. He currently serves on the executive committee for the Barristers Association of Philadelphia and was recently named president-elect of the Association. Reid also serves on the board of directors of the State of Delaware ACLU.

Reid is a graduate of West Chester University (B.S., 1996) and Widener University School of Law (J.D., 2002), where he served as the president of the Black Law Students Association, was a senior staff member of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law, and received the 2002 Outstanding Student Service Award. He also served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Robert C. Wright of the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas and as an intern in the Regulatory Affairs Division of the Philadelphia City Solicitor's Office during law school. Reid has been inducted into the West Chester University Alumni Legacy of Leadership.
