William Weintraub Joins FKSA to Launch Financial Restructuring & Insolvency Department
William P. Weintraub has joined FKSA as a partner and will lead the firm's new Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Department. Mr. Weintraub has represented debtors, major creditors, creditors' committees, official bondholders' committees, plan sponsors, and acquirers in diverse industries in bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring, and reorganization matters. Mr. Weintraub's expertise and renown will complement and enhance the firm's existing litigation and corporate practices (both of which include matters relating to bankruptcy and restructuring) and allow the firm to serve its clients in an increasingly important area of the law.

Mr. Weintraub graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany in 1975, and received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1979. He is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, a member of the Committee on Business Bankruptcy of the American Bar Association Section of Business Law, and a member of the Business Reorganization and Uniform Commercial Code Committees of the American Bankruptcy Institute. Mr. Weintraub, who is also admitted in California, is a former member of the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California and a former chair, vice-chair, and secretary of that Section's Debtor-Creditor Relations and Bankruptcy Committee. A respected author, he has contributed to Norton Bankruptcy Law and Practice, and frequently lectures on advanced bankruptcy topics. He was formerly a partner in Pachulski Stang Ziehl Young Jones & Weintraub LLP.

FREEHILL HOGAN & MAHAR AGAIN RANKED IN THE TOP TIER OF NEW YORK MARITIME FIRMS

Foley Inducted into the Litigation Council of America
Minneapolis attorney Stephen J. Foley, of Foley & Mansfield, PLLP, was inducted into the Litigation Counsel of America at the LCA’s Spring Conference and Induction of Fellows in New York.

Steve is one of Foley & Mansfield's founding partners. He has more than 20 years of civil trial experience. He focuses his practice on product liability litigation, including toxic torts, as well as commercial litigation. He also has extensive insurance coverage litigation experience.

Steve’s trial and appellate experience, in both state and federal courts, has resulted in successful outcomes for a wide variety of clients. He has tried cases in California, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, New York, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin, and handled litigation in other states across the country.

Steve has tried numerous asbestos cases involving mesothelioma and lung cancer to verdict in California and Texas. He has experience as national coordinating counsel in toxic tort litigation. He is also actively defending clients in silica and benzene litigation. In the past, he has represented a wide variety of manufacturers and distributors ranging from industrial equipment manufacturers to propane gas distributors. He has also represented architects and contractors in construction cases ranging from multi-million dollar power plant fires to mold intrusion. His commercial and insurance coverage litigation includes representing major insurers in silicone breast implant coverage disputes as well as business disputes over Indian gaming contracts.

Steve has been an invited speaker at seminars in the United States and Europe. He was recently recognized by his peers as one of the best product liability attorneys in the San Francisco area by a local legal publication.

He is a member of the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association, The Northern California Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute. He is admitted to the bar in California, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, as well as numerous federal courts across the country.

The Litigation Counsel of America is a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in the LCA is highly selective and by invitation only. Fellows are selected based upon effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation. The LCA is aggressively diverse in its composition. Four Foley & Mansfield Attorneys Named 2007 Super Lawyers
