Jones Day Welcomes Capital Markets Partner Alex Gendzier
Capital markets lawyer Alex Gendzier has joined the New York Office of international law firm Jones Day as a partner.

Mr. Gendzier has represented investment banks, private equity portfolio companies and other issuers in a broad range of securities transactions. These transactions have included registered offerings, PIPEs and other private placements of equity, equity-linked, high yield and investment grade securities and tender offers, debt repurchases, consent solicitations and exchange offers. He has worked with middle market companies, private equity firms and multinational corporations from a wide range of industries, including aerospace, airlines, automotive, banking and finance, biotechnology, consumer products, healthcare, insurance and reinsurance, manufacturing, technology and telecommunications.

Mr. Gendzier has extensive experience advising companies regarding corporate governance, Sarbanes-Oxley, SEC filings and other compliance matters. Formerly a partner in the New York office of King & Spalding LLP, Mr. Gendzier also practiced at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Before becoming a lawyer, he worked at Bankers Trust Company and BT Securities Corporation in the senior debt syndications group, leaving as a Vice President and a Team Leader.

"Alex has broad and deep capital markets experience that will be much valued by issuers and banks both in New York and beyond," said Chris Kelly, head of Jones Day's global capital markets practice.

Mr. Gendzier is a 1994 graduate of New York University School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and served as articles editor for the Annual Survey of American Law, in 1994. He graduated Haverford College in 1984 as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
