Boston Business Journal Names Cetrulo & Capone LLP The Second Fastest Growing Law Firm
In a recent survey of the 100 largest law firms in Massachusetts by the Boston Business Journal, Cetrulo & Capone LLP was the second fastest growing law firm in 2006, as measured by the number of attorneys.

WFW advise Granville Baird on €102.25 million purchase of The Amoena Group
Watson, Farley & Williams (WFW) Hamburg have advised Granville Baird Capital Partners on its investment in Amoena Group, Raubling, Bavaria, in a management buyout from the stock-listed Danish medical devices company Coloplast A/S, for a purchase price of €102.25m.


Amoena is one of the leading suppliers of breast prostheses and related products for women who have undergone surgery following the detection of breast cancer. The Company has operations in over 60 countries and employs more than 600 people.


Hamburg-based Granville Baird Capital Partners specialises in management buy-outs and the funding of growing medium-sized companies in Germany.


Watson, Farley & Williams have advised Granville Baird Capital Partners both on the legal and on the tax elements of the transaction. Watson, Farley & Williams has a long-term and successful relationship with Granville Baird.

Ten Mississippi Attorneys Named “Leader in their Field”
Ten Watkins Ludlam Winter & Stennis attorneys have been named a “Leader in their Field” by Chambers & Partners, which publishes the directory Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

Those who were named to the list are Mark Davis (Real Estate), David Grishman (Corporate/Commercial), Peyton Irby (Employment Law), Gina Jacobs (Corporate/Commercial), Bob Lazarus (Corporate/Commercial: Municipal Finance), David Martin (Corporate/Commercial), Keith Raulston (Litigation: General Commercial), Tommy Shepherd (Corporate/Commercial: Gaming & Licensing), Zach Taylor (Corporate/Commercial: Municipal Finance), and Jim Tohill (Real Estate).

Chambers USA conducts over 10,000 interviews covering the entire United State. They were carried out by a team of 40 full-time researchers over a period of 6 months. Researchers speak to a vast range of lawyers and clients. Greater weighting is given to the views of the latter, and any biased viewpoints tend to cancel each other out. All interviews are conducted purely for research purposes and are entirely confidential and un-attributed. Rankings are assessed on criteria that include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness/astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities that the client considers relevant.

Mississippi's 50 Leading Business Women
Congratulations to Camille Scales Young on her selection as one of Mississippi's 50 Leading Business Women Class of 2006. This elite group of women have been selected based on their business acumen, their civic and professional involvement, and their contribution to the community.

Camille is a Government Affairs Representative with the law firm of Watkins Ludlam Winter & Stennis. She is responsible for lobbying the Mississippi Legislature for various client interests and is directly involved in drafting proposed legislation, grassroots lobbying and policy development. She provides her clients oral and written reports of pertinent legislative actions and performs public and community relations services as needed for her clients. Through her decade of experience in the state and national legislative processes, she has become successful at securing support for issues of importance to clients. She is also the editor of Capitol Commentary, a WLW&S publication sent out by the firm’s Governmental Relations Practice Group. Camille's honors include being selected in 2005 as one of the Mississippi Business Journal's Top 40 Under 40 recipients; and a Class of 2000-2001 graduate of Leadership Jackson.

Camille is a graduate of Mississippi State University (B.A., 1994; M.S., 1996). While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she held the position of Editorial Page Editor of The Reflector, was honored as an Alumni Delegate, and was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. During her collegiate career, the Coca-Cola Scholar completed internships with the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal and Senator Trent Lott. She also served Mississippi State as an instructor of Public Speaking and a Public Affairs Graduate Assistant. As an experienced public speaker, Camille has conducted many workshops on oratory and interpersonal communications. She has lectured on The Importance of Communications in Corporate America and Leadership for Today and Tomorrow . Additionally, she has provided motivational speeches for numerous youth and women’s groups across the state. Most recently, Camille was the keynote speaker for the graduation exercises for Youth Leadership Lauderdale County.

Camille is active in the community as a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Upsilon Upsilon Omega Chapter in Canton, MS and has served as chairwoman of Fashionetta, the sorority’s nine-month debutante program for high school girls. Currently, she serves as chairwoman of the Women’s Health Committee. Through the sorority, she has helped to raise more than $75,000 that is returned to the Canton area through scholarships and community service projects. In addition to her work with Alpha Kappa Alpha, Camille lends her leadership skills as a volunteer Girl Scout Leader, as past president of the New Hope Christian School parents' organization, and as an active member of The Junior League of Jackson.

In addition to being active in her community, dedicated to her work at Watkins Ludlam and serving on boards and committees that she is involved in, Camille is also a dedicated wife and devoted mother to three beautiful children. Congratulations again to Camille on this high recognition!

Dana Simpson Invited Presenter at the American Society of Anesthesiologists' 2007 Conference on Practice Management
Smith Anderson lawyer, Dana Simpson, recently was selected by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) to present at its 2007 Conference on Practice Management in Phoenix, Arizona.

Mr. Simpson's lecture, "A Future of Opportunities and Threats: Legal and Political Challenges for Anesthesiology Practices" offered attendees a practical overview of how legal and political trends will shape the practice of anesthesiology in the future. Specific focus areas in this interactive presentation included private and public payor reimbursement; growth in non-hospital-based surgery; scope of practice challenges; and hospital contracting relationships.

Mr. Simpson practices as a member of Smith Anderson's Health Care Law and Public and Government Affairs teams. His extensive experience includes representing health care clients in managed care contracting and dispute resolution; health care corporate and employment law issues; and state and federal regulatory compliance. In addition, he represents health care clients before state administrative agencies and the North Carolina General Assembly.

Mr. Simpson's public and government affairs practice includes advising clients regarding legislative and regulatory advocacy; public relations and grassroots strategies; and campaign finance law compliance. He was rated one of the top 50 "Most Influential" lobbyists in the 2005 General Assembly in a survey of legislators, lobbyists and the press conducted by the North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research.

T&K Names New Partners

Hunter M. Barrow, a member of the Firm's Trial Practice Group in Houston, focuses his practice on business and commercial litigation. His expertise encompasses federal and state trial and appellate actions, involving corporate governance, securities fraud, shareholder derivative actions, business torts, general contract, fraud, real estate, energy, construction, intellectual property, and partnership disputes. Barrow received a J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 1999 and a B.B.A. from Baylor University in 1995.

Harry R. Beaudry, a member of the Firm's Corporate and Securities Practice Group in Houston, represents clients in connection with a variety of corporate concerns, including business combinations, acquisitions and dispositions, public equity and debt offerings, private placements of securities, corporate governance matters, and compliance with securities law and securities exchange listing standards. Beaudry received a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 2000 and a B.S. in Political Science from Vanderbilt University in 1993.

Gregory D. Binns, a member of the Firm's Trial Practice Group in Dallas, focuses his practice on commercial, antitrust, and construction litigation. He represents clients in federal and state courts and before arbitration panels. Binns received a J.D. from Washington University School of Law and an M.B.A. from Washington University in 2000, as well as a B.A. in Economics from DePauw University in 1996.

Jolisa Melton Dobbs, a member of the Firm's Oil and Gas Practice Group in Dallas, represents clients in oil and gas transactions. She has expertise in oil and gas title due diligence, the acquisitions and divestitures of oil and gas properties, and oil and gas leasing. She regularly advises clients regarding exploration and production activities, including the preparation of related agreements. She received a J.D., with honors, from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2000, and an M.Acc. and B.Acc., summa cum laude, from the University of Oklahoma in 1995.

Robert D. Probasco, a member of the Firm's Tax Practice Group in Dallas, focuses his practice on IRS audits and appeals and tax litigation. He has represented taxpayers in tax disputes covering a broad range of issues. Probasco is also a Certified Public Accountant in Texas. He received a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2000 and a B.S., with distinction, in Industrial Administration from Iowa State University in 1974.

Gaye White, a member of the Firm's Oil and Gas Practice Group in Austin, focuses her practice on oil and gas regulatory and transactional matters. She also represents clients in matters concerning electric, gas, and water utility regulation. White received a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 2000 and a B.S., with honors, in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1995.
