Fennemore Craig’s Real Estate Law Practice Group and Las Vegas office are expanding with the addition of Wilbur Roadhouse, an attorney well known in Nevada for his practice in the field of CC&Rs and common-interest communities, including master-planned and golf course community developments, and condominiums. Roadhouse has represented many high-profile clients in Nevada, including Southern Highlands Development Corporation, Mountains Edge LLC, D.R. Horton, Woodside Homes of Nevada, William Lyon Homes, Park Highlands, Cliffs Edge (Providence), Westmark Homes, Meritage Homes of Nevada, Sun Colony Summerlin (Siena Homes), Pageantry Communities, Sovereign Capital Management, Centex Homes, Atherton-Newport Real Estate Investment, Distinctive Homes, Desert Oak Homes, Amstar Homes, and Avante Homes.

Roadhouse is AV rated, the highest peer review rating among attorneys. Before joining Fennemore Craig, he practiced law as the principal of the Roadhouse Law Group in Las Vegas, and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.

Roadhouse has been married for 35 years, and has two adult sons. He earned his law degree summa cum laude from the University of Arizona in 1983, and a bachelor’s degree from the U of A in 1972. Roadhouse, who speaks fluent Japanese, also graduated from St. Joseph College in Yokohama, Japan, in 1969. From 1986 through 1992, he was Director of the City of Tucson Trade Office at the World Trade Center in Taipei, Taiwan. Roadhouse also is a Commandeur in the Commanderie de Bordeaux.

The election of Rudy Garcia as chancellor of The Justinian Society was noted in the July 31, 2007, edition of The Legal Intelligencer in its "People in the News" column, the August 6, 2007, edition of The Philadelphia Inquirer, and the September 7, 2007, edition of the Philadelphia Business Journal. Garcia is a shareholder in Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Philadelphia office, where he focuses his practice on complex civil litigation.

71 Named to "Best Lawyers in America" List
Seventy-one Baker Hostetler attorneys, from four states and the District of Columbia, have been named to the 2008 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.

Baker Hostetler also has the most attorneys listed in the field of Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Law than any other firm in Cleveland and the state of Ohio, and has the most attorneys listed in the field of Labor & Employment Law than any other firm in Cleveland.

Bradley D. Beck has joinged U&B as senior counsel in its Intellectual Property (IP) & Technology Group.
Ulmer & Berne LLP has announced the addition of Bradley D. Beck as senior counsel in its Intellectual Property (IP) & Technology Group.

Mr. Beck has extensive experience in the area of mechanical technologies. Prior to joining Ulmer & Berne, he worked both as an in-house intellectual property counsel and in private practice. Most recently, Mr. Beck was of counsel at Wood, Herron and Evans L.L.P. Before starting his career as a patent attorney 16 years ago, Mr. Beck worked as an engineer in the jet engine segment of the aerospace industry for over 16 years.

“Our IP & Technology Group is booming with the recent additions of Eric M. Robbins, Seth A. Voit and Gordon D. Kinder and we are excited about the addition of Brad Beck, which increases our depth and experience with another high quality attorney,” said Scott P. Kadish, Cincinnati office partner-in-charge.

According to Michael D. Stovsky, Chair of the Firm’s IP & Technology Group, Ulmer & Berne saw mechanical engineering patent prosecution as one of its clients’ developing needs and has expanded the capabilities of the Firm’s practice by adding attorneys experienced in the areas of not only mechanical engineering but also electrical engineering and computer science. The IP & Technology Group plans to continue its growth in the coming months.

Mr. Beck received a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, a M.S. in Engineering with a major in mechanical engineering from the University of Central Florida, and a J.D. from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University. He is a member of the Ohio Bar, registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; an active member of the Cincinnati Bar Association; and an active member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

Smith Haughey Introduces New Internship Program
Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is introducing a new internship program sponsored by the firm's Diversity Committee. Edward Lofton, a senior at City High School in Grand Rapids, will be the first program participant during the fall 2007 semester.

Each semester, one high school student who has expressed an interest in pursuing a career in the legal professional will be chosen to fill the internship position. Throughout the semester, the intern will gain experience and exposure in all areas of the law and firm operations. In addition, he will be provided with an overview of all career opportunities within the legal profession.

Securitas Systems acquires F+H electronic.
Mannheimer Swartling has assisted Securitas Systems Deutschland Holding GmbH in acquiring F+H electronic Group, a company group offering electronic security systems solutions and services to the industrial and banking sector.

The transaction also covered acquisition of the company B.S.N Verwaltungs- und Büroservice GmbH.

Oliver Schulte was the partner in charge, who was mainly assisted by Bettina Kreimer.

Michael J. Corso Named President of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association
The law firm of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. is pleased to announce that Michael J. Corso, a stockholder with the firm, has been named President of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA). Formed in 1967, the FDLA is comprised of over 1,000 lawyers at private practice, private corporation and public entity levels. It's goal is to promote a level playing field in civil litigation and to foster its members' growth as professionals.

Corso is the chair of Henderson Franklin's tort and insurance litigation department, and focuses his practice in the defense of non-medical professionals, including lawyers, accountants, architects, engineers and surveyors, copyright/trademark infringement, product liability and more general tort defense matters in litigation. Corso received his B.S. in 1971 from Purdue University, and his J.D. from Villanova University in 1974. He is Board Certified by both The Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy, in Civil Trial Law and Business Litigation.
