Los Angeles 

Firm Culture:  Irell is a very competitive place. People are locked behind their doors. The firm is being run like a dictatorship. No willingness to hear constructive criticism of associates. One person runs the place (Chu Morgan) and no one else can speak....
Work & Hours:  Horrible hours. Most of the people in a class typically leave the firm within a year-year and a half. The only people who survive there are people that usually have no life. It is not accidential that single women or women with no families and gay people make it as partners there.
Salary & Benefits:  They definitely know how to pay.
The Interview process:  The best preternders. The people at the firm are far from being excellent or smart in general. Some of them are truly unethical and terrible legal minds. They do attract excellent people, but the best run away from there.
Overall Impression:  Stay away from the firm. No chances it will economically survive if Morgan Chu leaves. He brings most of the work to the firm (more than 50%). If God forbid he gets hit by a bus, most people will need to look for a firm. Additionally, if you are a woman that wants to have a life and kids one day, this is not the place for you. They do not give easy life to women. Overall, better to join other places. This firm's reputation is totally unjustified.
