Ice Miller LLP announced today they ranked tenth in the nation in the category of top bond counsel for negotiated issues. The Firm also ranked tenth in the category of top bond counsel relating to all issues, with full credit given to each firm involved in the transaction. The statistics were calculated for the first half of 2006 by Thomson Financial.

""A continuing government interest in investing in capital programs and responding to a variety of challenges, led to a particularly active first six months,"" stated Buddy Downs, partner and chair of the Firm's Municipal Finance Section. ""In the first six months of 2006, Ice Miller served as bond counsel on issues totaling over $3.6 billion in principal amount,"" stated Downs.

Ice Miller has served as bond counsel and special counsel to state and local governments since 1910. Each year, Ice Miller approves 250 to 430 municipal financings with a total principal amount of up to $6.5 billion. Ice Miller served as bond counsel for the Indianapolis Waterworks, Circle Centre, Clarian Health Partners, the Indiana Municipal Power Agency and as counsel for the Indiana Stadium and Building Authority and the Indiana Finance Authority for Major Moves.

""Ice Miller has handled a number of complex and significant public financings,"" continued Downs. ""We are grateful to our clients for their continued trust and for the opportunity to take part in projects that enhance the quality of life for all Hoosiers,"" concluded Downs.

The life of a lawyer is hardly happy-go-lucky. First, you are a human, and then, you are a lawyer. This simple fact continually fails in registering itself, while we are engrossed in doing our daily tasks and meeting deadlines. So stress keeps piling up, substance abuse becomes common, families break down, tripping up and getting caught in the web of professional misconduct, knowingly or unknowingly, is also quite common.
