Three attorneys have joined Hodgson Russ LLPís New York office. They are Mark H. Peikin, a partner in the Corporate & Securities Practice Group, and Eric A. Pinero and Sebastian Weiss, associates in the Corporate & Securities Practice Group.

Mark H. Peikin concentrates his practice in corporate and securities law, including private equity and debt financing, venture capital financing, project financing, private and public securities offerings, and mergers and acquisitions. He represents issuers, underwriters, and investment banking firms in public and private securities offerings and buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Peikin has extensive experience in representing clients whose businesses are in the energy industry, including independent power producers, energy services companies, coal companies, oil and gas companies, and alternative and renewable energy companies engaged in solar power, wind power, bio-fuels, ethanol, landfill gas, clean coal, fuel cells, and waste-to-energy. He is knowledgeable about carbon emissions reductions, environmental credit trading, and energy-related tax credits and represents numerous clients regarding these issues. Mr. Peikin is also recognized for his work representing directorsí and officersí liability insurers when their insuredís are involved in complex securities litigation. He chairs the American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Sectionís Professionalsí Officersí and Directorsí Liability Committee.

Eric A. Pinero concentrates his practice in corporate and securities matters, having handled a diverse range of transactions, including secondary public offerings, private equity and debt security financings, and corporate governance. His focus is on all matters relating to the organization and operation of business entities and the offer, sale, and exchange of securities. This includes the preparation and filing of periodic reports, current reports, registration statements, and other filings required by the 1933 Act and 1934 Act. Prior to joining Hodgson Russ, Mr. Pinero worked as an associate focusing in corporate and securities law for two boutique law firms in New York City.

Sebastian Weiss concentrates his practice in corporate and securities law, including corporate finance, corporate formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, 1933 Act and 1934 Act filings, and commercial transactions. While attending law school, Mr. Weiss worked as a law clerk for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Receivership Litigation & Policy Section and for New York Supreme Court Judge Louise Gruner Gans.

Gary M. Schober, president and CEO of Hodgson Russ LLP, has been elected to the Kaleida Health Foundation board of directors.

Mr. Schober oversees Hodgson Russís more than 230 attorneys and 330 plus management and support staff, who are located throughout its eight offices. In addition to leading the firmís strategic vision and initiatives for growth and business development, he takes an active role in guiding the firmís day-to-day operations.

Prior to being named president and CEO, Mr. Schober was a partner in Hodgson Russís Intellectual Property & Technology and Corporate & Securities Practice Groups, concentrating his practice in electronic commerce, computer, and technology law and counseling high-technology and other clients on a broad range of business law matters. He was frequently involved in high-dollar sale and purchase transactions involving complex technology-based businesses and had extensive experience with the sale of patents and other intellectual property. His practice frequently included representing clients in international transactions.
