Cleveland, OH. The Cleveland law firm Frantz Ward LLP has added Ashley M. Arvin to its Business Counseling Group.

Ms. Arvin will focus her practice on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate governance and general contract matters for corporations, companies and partnerships. She also represents companies and individuals in zoning and land use matters, and she counsels clients regarding real estate acquisitions, divestitures and drafting and negotiating purchase agreements and leases.

Ms. Arvin is a graduate of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, and obtained her undergraduate degree at Purdue University.

The Cleveland law firm Frantz Ward LLP continues to strengthen its labor and employment practice with the addition of Thomas J. Piatak and Emily C. Fiftal.

Mr. Piatak joins Frantz Ward as counsel in the firm's Labor and Employment Group. Prior to joining Frantz Ward, Mr. Piatak was a partner in the Cleveland office of Baker & Hostetler.

In nearly twenty years of practice, Mr. Piatak has represented employers in all aspects of employment law. He handles employment-related litigation in state and federal courts and arbitrations, and represents clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. Mr. Piatak also advises employers on compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act and other employment-related statutes and regulations. He also represents clients in connection with proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

Mr. Piatak received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, cum laude, and his undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University, summa cum laude.

Ms. Fiftal joins Frantz Ward as an associate, having spent the past three years at a Cleveland labor law firm. She will continue to focus on counseling employers on human resources issues and representation of employers in litigation involving employment discrimination, harassment, and wrongful discharge.

Ms. Fiftal received her law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and her undergraduate degree from Truman State University.
