Raleigh, North Carolina (October 13, 2020): Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough is pleased to announce that the attorneys from Shanahan Law Group in Raleigh, North Carolina will join the firm on December 1, 2020. Shanahan Law Group was founded by former federal prosecutor Kieran J. Shanahan in 2001 and is a distinguished boutique law firm that provides sophisticated litigation and corporate legal services to a wide variety of clients.
“Kieran is a well-known and respected attorney, and his team will add significant depth and breadth to our existing practice in the Raleigh area, as well as our broader litigation practice in North Carolina,” said Jim Lehman, managing partner of Nelson Mullins.
Shanahan, an experienced litigator who has tried more than 100 cases, has earned a reputation as a tenacious litigator who handles complex, high-stakes cases. His practice includes banking matters, business disputes, employment, and construction matters, as well as class action, administrative, and federal white-collar defense matters. He also handles corporate compliance, professional licensing, and internal investigations for professionals and corporations under regulatory scrutiny.
“Shanahan Law Group will be a significant addition to our Raleigh practice,” said Bob Wilson, office managing partner for the Nelson Mullins Raleigh office. “The addition of the Shanahan attorneys will further position us to provide comprehensive legal services as a full-service firm in the Raleigh market.”
Shanahan added: “Our clients will benefit from the expanded resources and presence of a national firm, with added capabilities, enhanced practices, and broader geographic reach. Our firms share a common culture of great client service, and I am therefore very excited about joining Nelson Mullins and our prospects for the future.”
Other attorneys who will join Nelson Mullins from Shanahan Law Group are partners Brandon S. Neuman and John E. Branch III; of counsel Andrew D. Brown, Christopher S. Battles, and Jeffrey J. Goebel; associates Jeffrey M. Kelly, Nathaniel J. Pencook, and Cassie A. Holt; and paralegals Christine Dillard, Sarah Strickland, and Christine McCaffrey.
