CROWE & DUNLEVY RECOGNIZED BY INTERNATIONAL LEGAL PUBLISHER, CHAMBERS & PARTNERS
Crowe & Dunlevy Receives Top Ranking as Only Firm in Oklahoma to Receive Highest Ranking in All Five Major Areas of Legal Practice

Chambers & Partners, an international legal publisher, has once again highly ranked Crowe & Dunlevy in its annual Chambers USA Directory. Crowe & Dunlevy was the only firm in Oklahoma which ranked in Band 1, the highest ranking, in all five major areas of legal practice: corporate and commercial law, energy and natural resources, employment law, litigation and real estate. As one of the top firms in Oklahoma, Crowe & Dunlevy has a long history of good rankings in the Chambers USA Directory.

Chambers developed the rankings over an 8-month period, conducting over 10,000 interviews in the U.S. to determine the law firms rankings. The firms were judged based upon their legal ability, professionalism, client service, and diligent commitment to the law.

“We are very pleased with this year’s rankings,” said Crowe & Dunlevy president Brooke S. Murphy. “To be the only firm in the state to receive Band 1 rankings in all five major areas of legal practice covered by Chambers is a strong vote of confidence by our clients and our peers. This recognition underscores Crowe & Dunlevy’s strong culture of excellence and commitment to providing high quality services to our clients.”

The Chambers USA Directory also listed successful attorneys by practice area. In employment law, Crowe & Dunlevy director Leonard Court received a “Star Performer” ranking for the second year in a row, which the highest ranking an attorney can receive and reflects exceptional professional performance. Additionally, seven Firm attorneys received Band 1 rankings, more than any other firm in the state: Michael Stewart, Mark Christiansen, Gary Davis, Kent D. Meyers, Clyde Muchmore and Michael Laird.

Maria Boyce Named Partner in Charge of Baker Botts’ Houston Office
Maria Wyckoff Boyce, a leading commercial and intellectual property litigator, has been named Partner in Charge of the Houston office of Baker Botts L.L.P. She is the first woman to hold a managerial position at this level at the firm.

Boyce currently leads the Houston office’s Litigation Department and has served a two-year term on the firm’s Executive Committee. During her nearly 19 years with Baker Botts, she has handled complex commercial disputes, represented plaintiffs and defendants in intellectual property litigation matters throughout the country, and has handled appeals for clients in Texas appellate courts, the Texas Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.

“Maria brings a wealth of experience and knowledge about law firm operations to this assignment,” said Walt Smith, Managing Partner of Baker Botts. “For nearly two decades, Maria has been a major contributor to the growth of our Houston office. Her ability to manage complex litigation matters and coordinate client representations will be beneficial in her charge to lead the largest Baker Botts office.”

“I welcome the challenge of managing the Houston office,” Boyce said. “Working with our lawyers and staff, I will strive to continue the Baker Botts tradition of providing the best possible service to our clients. It is what they have come to expect of the firm during its nearly 170-year history. I will continue to focus my efforts on maintaining that record of excellence.”

Houston is home to more than 270 Baker Botts lawyers who represent clients in legal matters covering energy, intellectual property, litigation, corporate, tax, employment and environmental issues. Houston is one of the firm’s 11 offices.
