William Munck Named to Lawdragon's Leading Lawyers in America
Munck Butrus, P.C. co-founder William A. Munck has earned a spot among Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Lawyers in America.

Lawdragon is a quarterly publication and Web site focused on the legal industry. It publishes guides to the country’s top lawyers, and provides an online rating guide for attorneys. To compile the Leading Lawyers in America, the publication utilized online balloting and independent research involving interviews with thousands of lawyers nationwide. The list will be featured in the Fall 2006 issue, available in October.

While this is a great honor for me personally, it really reflects the efforts of our whole team at Munck Butrus, and recognizes the great efforts of the firm for our clients,” says Mr. Munck.

No stranger to honors, Mr. Munck recently was named one of the top attorneys in the nation by the 2006 Chambers and Partners USA legal directory, an honor he has earned for three consecutive years. He also has been named a Texas Super Lawyer the last four years.

Mr. Munck is chairman of the firm’s Intellectual Property section, concentrating his practice in the field of information technology, including hardware, firmware, software and communications. He earned his J.D. with honors from the Hofstra University School of Law and also received his master’s and undergraduate degrees from Hofstra.

Munck Butrus, P.C. has carved out a practice devoted to trials, transactions and technology. Audrey Mross has been elected as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Association
Munck Butrus, P.C. is pleased to announce that shareholder Audrey Mross has been elected as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Only one-third of one percent of State Bar members may be nominated to the Fellows each year and Ms. Mross is one of 76 lawyers from Dallas who accepted the nomination in 2006. The mission of the Texas Bar Foundation is to advance the cause of justice in Texas by supporting programs providing legal assistance to the needy, education of the public and ethics in the legal profession.

ALLEN PARKER SPEAKS AT PLI PRIVATE EQUITY ACQUISITION FINANCING CONFERENCE
On November 20, Cravath partner C. Allen Parker spoke at PLI's Private Equity Acquisition Financing Summit 2006 in New York City. Allen's presentation, entitled "Financing Commitments", covered: the use of financing commitments in the acquisition process; senior and bridge commitments; "SunGard conditionality", including seller requirements; pricing flex; and "stapled" papers and competitive submissions.

On November 22, Cravath partner Philip J. Boeckman will co-chair "Hot Topics in Cross-Border Securities Offerings", a conference presented by RR Donnelley and West Legalworks in London. Philip will also serve as a panelist for three discussions entitled "Overview of Recent Developments in the US Market That May Affect SEC Registrants", "Deregistration", and "SEC 'Hot Buttons'--Dealing with the SEC Comment Process.

RICH CLARY RE-ELECTED VICE CHAIR OF LEGAL AID SOCIETY
Cravath partner Richard W. Clary has been re-elected a Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of The Legal Aid Society. Rich was also reappointed to the Board's Executive, Strategic Planning and Compensation Committees. He has been a member of The Legal Aid Society's Board since 1998.

Cleary Gottlieb is representing Goldman Sachs & Co., Bank of America and Bear Stearns in financing the acquisition of Equity Office Properties Trust by The Blackstone Group. The acquisition, valued at $36 billion, is the largest leveraged buyout in history and the largest real estate transaction in history.

Equity Office Properties Trust is the nation's largest publicly held office building owner and manager with a total office portfolio consisting of whole or partial interests in 581 buildings comprising 109.2 million square feet in 16 states and the District of Columbia.

The Blackstone Group, a global private investment and advisory firm, was founded in 1985. The firm has raised a total of more than $67 billion for alternative asset investing of which almost $13 billion has been for real estate investing.
