<News:newsheading>D. Joe Rockett, a partner of the Andrews Davis law firm in Oklahoma City, has been elected to the board of Meritas, an international alliance of nearly 170 commercial law firms. Meritas recently hosted 300 attorneys from 39 countries at their 16th annual meeting in Toronto, where the new board members were elected. Meritas provides business clients with worldwide access to comprehensive legal services. Andrews Davis has been part of the Meritas alliance for 16 years. Andrews Davis law firm was one of the founding members of Meritas.

\"\"It used to be that the only options for companies were to build up their own in-house legal department, use large national or international firms, or develop personal networks of preferred legal providers,\"\" said Rockett. \"\"Through Meritas, Andrews Davis clients can rest assured that they are working with law firms that adhere to high quality standards, are well established in their locales and are cost effective.\"\"

<News:newsheading>Crowe & Dunlevy Receives Top Ranking as Only Firm in Oklahoma to Receive Highest Ranking in All Five Major Areas of Legal Practice

Chambers & Partners, an international legal publisher, has once again highly ranked Crowe & Dunlevy in its annual Chambers USA Directory. Crowe & Dunlevy was the only firm in Oklahoma which ranked in Band 1, the highest ranking, in all five major areas of legal practice: corporate and commercial law, energy and natural resources, employment law, litigation and real estate. As one of the top firms in Oklahoma, Crowe & Dunlevy has a long history of good rankings in the Chambers USA Directory.

Chambers developed the rankings over an 8-month period, conducting over 10,000 interviews in the U.S. to determine the law firms rankings. The firms were judged based upon their legal ability, professionalism, client service, and diligent commitment to the law.

‽We are very pleased with this year†s rankings,” said Crowe & Dunlevy president Brooke S. Murphy. ‽To be the only firm in the state to receive Band 1 rankings in all five major areas of legal practice covered by Chambers is a strong vote of confidence by our clients and our peers. This recognition underscores Crowe & Dunlevy†s strong culture of excellence and commitment to providing high quality services to our clients.”

The Chambers USA Directory also listed successful attorneys by practice area. In employment law, Crowe & Dunlevy director Leonard Court received a ‽Star Performer” ranking for the second year in a row, which the highest ranking an attorney can receive and reflects exceptional professional performance. Additionally, seven Firm attorneys received Band 1 rankings, more than any other firm in the state: Michael Stewart, Mark Christiansen, Gary Davis, Kent D. Meyers, Clyde Muchmore and Michael Laird.</News:newsheading>

Near the end of World War II, Paul enlisted in the United States Navy and to this day Paul views his time in the Navy as one of the best experiences of his life. The Navy assigned him to the electrical engineering school and allowed Paul to travel and train in such places as Chicago, Corpus Christi, and eventually Oklahoma State University. After the war ended and Paul was discharged he continued his education at Oklahoma State graduating in 1950 with a Bachelor†s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

After college, Paul began working for Sinclair Oil and Gas, while putting himself through law school at the University of Tulsa. Upon graduation from law school in 1957, he became co-founder of Head & Johnson, which specialized in handling Intellectual Property matters. Paul Johnson is to this day regarded as one of the profession†s most respected Intellectual Property attorneys in Tulsa and throughout the world. Paul has helped thousands of clients realize their dreams through the procurement of patents and trademarks over the years.

Paul Johnson is not only a successful attorney but also an outstanding citizen of the City of Tulsa and the State of Oklahoma. Paul has served as the President of the Tulsa Downtown Lions Club, the Green T Club, and as past Chairman of the Tulsa Housing Authority. His current affiliations include the Rotary Club of Tulsa, Director Emeritus of the Thomas Gilcrease Museum Association, and a Commissioner for the Will Rogers Commission and Memorial.

On a personal level, Paul and his wife Ruth enjoy traveling to such places as South Africa, Turkey and Nova Scotia; spending time with their two children Jeff and Lisa, and enjoying all of their wonderful grandchildren. Paul and Ruth are also active members in their church community, and they love entertaining their friends and family with pictures and stories from recent trips.
