<News:newsheading>Steptoe &amp; Johnson announced today that the firm's Charleston, Clarksburg and Morgantown offices have received the coveted Well Workplace Gold Award, acknowledging its commitment to the health and well-being of employees. Presented by the Wellness Councils of America (WELCOA), the 2007 Well Workplace Gold Award recognizes Steptoe &amp; Johnson for successfully integrating health promotion into its corporate culture and overall business practices.

"This is a very significant achievement because nationwide, only 59 Golds were awarded," remarked Robert M. Steptoe, Jr., CEO of the firm.

"This distinction confirms our firm's commitment to being a leader in health promotion," continued Steptoe. "To enhance wellness activities firm-wide, we have joined forces with beBetter Networks, Inc., which creates healthy living programs to assist individuals taking action toward protecting and improving their health. The combination of beBetter's expertise and the firm's experience with wellness groups will take our efforts to the next level," he said.</News:newsheading>

<News:newsheading>Bryan Cave LLP's Santa Monica office recently was named one of the "Best Places to Work in LA" for 2007 by the Los Angeles Business Journal. From hundreds of applicants throughout Los Angeles County, Bryan Cave was among 60 companies selected, and one of only four law firms honored. Bryan Cave was the highest-ranked law firm in the medium-sized companies group (25-249 employees).

"We are proud to receive this accolade from our market's leading business publication," said Jeff Modisett, managing partner of Bryan Cave's Santa Monica office. "This distinction is a testament to the office's teamwork and directly translates to the best service for our clients."

The recognition is based on an evaluation of workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics along with an in-depth survey measuring the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and final ranking. The process was managed by Best Companies Group, a professional firm and division of Journal Publications Inc., and ModernThink LLC, a strategic human resources consulting firm.

The final rankings were revealed at an awards reception Sept. 18 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel to a crowd of nearly 500 business professionals. Bryan Cave was highlighted in the Sept. 24 issue of the Los Angeles Business Journal.</News:newsheading>

24 issue of the Los Angeles Business Journal.</News:newsdescription>

<News:newsheading>The Center for Rural Leadership (Project CENTRL), an educational program developed by The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension under a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation of Battle Creek, Michigan, today announced that Robert Shuler has been selected to receive the Project Centrl President's Award. The award will be presented at a GALA Graduation and Alumni Dinner on October 19, 2007 at the Grace Inn in Tempe, Arizona.

Through Project CENTRL, leaders of rural communities work together to seek solutions to complex problems such as rural urban interface, the management and use of natural resources, economic development, regional planning, and communicating information on key public policy issues. The project focuses on training rural and agricultural leaders to meet the growing demands and challenges facing Arizona. Shuler was selected for his leadership in helping the project serve the needs of its constituencies.

"Robert Shuler and his firm have been a tremendous help to the rural and agricultural concerns of Arizona," said Everett Rhodes, Executive Director of Project CENTRL. "Each year we select someone whose service exemplifies our Project mission, and Mr. Shuler does that," he said.

The program is a partnership between The University of Arizona and the nonprofit Center for Rural Leadership Foundation. Since Michigan pioneered the first statewide agricultural leadership program in 1985 thirty states and four other countries have established similar programs, with more on the way.

The educational program consists of twelve highly interactive seminars scheduled over two years. Class members also have a five-day state exchange seminar at the end of the first year. This seminar is an in-depth visit with another state which has a similar rural or agricultural leadership program. A national seminar is taken at the end of the second year to Washington D.C. All class members are required to complete an internship which is designed to apply leadership skills learned in CENTRL in a community based project.

About Mr. Shuler

Robert Shuler is a shareholder in the law firm of Ryley Carlock &amp; Applewhite. He has 30 years of governmental, legal and business experience in Arizona and California. Current clients include Western Growers, the trade association representing the fresh fruit and vegetable industry in Arizona and California, as well as the Arizona Pork Council. Additional clients are Roosevelt Water Conservation District, the Town of Chino Valley, Arizona Crop Protection Association, Western Plant Health Association, and CropLife America.

Before joining Ryley Carlock &amp; Applewhite, Shuler was senior vice president of public affairs for the Arizona Chamber of Commerce. Prior to the Chamber, he served as senior vice president and general counsel for Sunsweet Growers, Inc. in Yuba City, California. From 1994 to 1998 he was a partner at Tuttle &amp; Taylor in Sacramento where he advised business clients in government affairs for California, Arizona and other states. He served as chief deputy director of the California Department of Food and Agriculture from 1991 to 1994.

In the 1980's, Shuler had a private law practice before his government service where he counseled business and trade association clients in governmental law and labor negotiations, grievances and arbitrations. From 1977 to 1983, he managed government, labor and legal relations for Bruce Church, Inc., an international grower and shipper of fresh fruits and vegetables in California.

A native of Arizona, Shuler has a juris doctor degree from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts degree in agricultural economics from Arizona State University. He is a member of the bar in Arizona and California and lives in Scottsdale with his wife Karyn. They have three grown children and one beautiful granddaughter.</News:newsheading>

The dollar amounts consist of estimated transaction values as disclosed by the filing party. All deals that have been registered with the SEC have been included, including international transactions. Only the lead advisor or counsel to the acquiring and target party is credited with the dollar value and count of each transaction, and each transaction is credited only once. The Best Lawyers' lists represent 80 specialties in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. The lists are compiled through an exhaustive peer-review survey in which thousands of the top lawyers in the United States confidentially evaluate their professional peers.

"We are honored to have so many partners included with such an exclusive group of attorneys," said Mark Foster, firm managing partner. "The recognition truly reflects our firm's commitment to excellence in all of our offices nationwide and the continued respect of the legal community."</News:newsdescription>
<News:newsheading>Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP Partner Matt Salzman was named as an "Up and Coming Lawyer" by Missouri Lawyers Weekly. He is one of 35 attorneys selected to this 10th annual issue who "stand out for their dedication to learning, teaching, and improving their communities."

The publication received a record number of nominations, which were sought from the readers of Missouri Lawyers Weekly as well as the paper's newsroom. Honorees were selected because they "dedicate themselves to a vocation, not merely a job, and believe being a lawyer means more than winning a big verdict or writing a killer contract."

From an early age, Salzman, a partner in the business litigation division, has been involved in significant cases. He found himself, at the age of 34, as lead defense counsel in two nationwide securities class action and derivative lawsuits. He successfully defended the directors of a public company in these two lawsuits that arose from an attempted management buy-out and sale of the company. Salzman found it to be a humbling experience that his clients, very distinguished directors, had faith in him to defend them and, to some extent, placed their personal fortunes in his hands.

Within the firm, Salzman serves as a member of the firm's client development committee. His civic interests center around Kansas City's downtown development and children's issues. He was selected to participate in the Civic Council's Kansas City Tomorrow Program and in the KC Chamber of Commerce's Centurions Leadership Training Program. Both of these programs are dedicated to training the emerging business and civic leaders in Kansas City. Salzman also was named one of Ingram's &quot;40 Under 40.&quot;</News:newsheading>

			<title>Squire, Sanders &amp; Dempsey L.L.P.</title>
			<description>Address : 40 North Central AvenueTwo Renaissance Square, Suite 2700, Phone : 602-528-4000, City : Phoenix</description>
<News:newsheading>Global law firm Squire, Sanders &amp; Dempsey L.L.P. has announced that real estate expert James Vernon-Stroud has joined the firm's London office as a senior associate from Eversheds LLP.

Vernon-Stroud has advised developers, investors, multinational owner/occupier corporations, listed companies and pension funds. Notably, he has acted for the largest supplier of self-storage accommodations in Europe in its purchase by public-to-private means, dual refinance over its international portfolio, acquisition of new build stores, portfolio management on a day-to-day basis and flotation exit by its majority-owning venture capital fund. He has also advised national pub chains on various investments and disposals.

This hire further demonstrates the firm's commitment to expanding its London office, with the hire of Roderick J. Cowper, a prominent litigator and international dispute resolution lawyer, also being announced this week. Cowper, who joined the firm from Bryan Cave LLP, and will head up the firm's London litigation practice. Cowper's hire was preceded by the hire of Tomasz Z. Ujejski in July, the former head of Baker &amp; McKenzie's Warsaw office. Ujejski is based in London and represents clients with business interests in Central Europe.

The firm continues to support this expansion with the hire of associates across a range of areas including, in recent months, corporate finance (Manmohan S. Panesar - Pinsent Masons), employment (Diane E. Mills - Howard Kennedy) and litigation (Alison M. Bradley - Campbell Hooper).

Andrew O. Visintin, head of the firm's London office, said: "In 2006, the London office doubled in size with the addition of lawyers from Haarmann Hemmelrath. We are making significant strides in our commitment to again double the size of our London office. We are actively recruiting top talent and look forward to announcing further high profile appointments in the coming months."

This is the latest in a slew of recent hires for the firm's European real estate practice, following, most recently, the announcement earlier this month that a team of real estate lawyers from LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene &amp; McRae LLP had joined Squire Sanders' Moscow office. The team includes Dmitry A. Kunitsa, the former head of real estate at LeBoeuf, who now heads up Russian real estate at Squire Sanders. As a result of these hires, the firm's Russian real estate team has doubled in size.

Daniel E. Larkin, the firm's joint head of real estate in Europe, said: "Vernon-Stroud is a high-calibre lawyer with an intimate knowledge of the UK property market and a strong track record. His hire is part of our plan to further penetrate the UK market and extend our capacity to provide a full range of legal services to real estate clients in the UK and throughout the region.

"We plan to retain and enhance our well-earned position as one of the leading real estate legal teams in Europe by enhancing our capability in London, Europe's largest financial centre," Larkin added. "Real estate finance remains a serious growth area for the firm. Over the years our practice has established a solid reputation throughout Western, Central and Eastern Europe, with particular emphasis on the financing of major real estate projects. Our experts from Frankfurt right across to Moscow are heavily involved in advising on significant real estate developments including providing counsel to investors and financial institutions such as German open-end funds, Irish investors and the large US investment funds."

Squire Sanders' real estate lawyers are consistently recommended by legal surveys around the world including Chambers Europe 2007 (one real estate client notes that Squire Sanders is "the only international firm that has never disappointed me"), European Legal Experts 2007, The Best Lawyers in America 2007 and Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers 2006.</News:newsheading>

<News:newsheading>Global law firm Squire, Sanders &amp; Dempsey L.L.P. continues to expand its preeminent international dispute resolution practice. The firm has announced that prominent IDR lawyers Pedro J. Martinez-Fraga, C. Ryan Reetz and Roderick J. Cowper have joined the firm as partners. Martinez-Fraga and Reetz join Squire Sanders in Miami and Cowper joins the firm in London.

Martinez-Fraga was chair of Miami International Litigation for Greenberg Traurig, LLP. He and Reetz were shareholders in that firm. Cowper was senior litigator in Bryan Cave LLP's London office. Martinez-Fraga will be coordinator of the firm's IDR practice in Florida and Latin America, and Cowper will be head of London litigation.

"Our clients with global business interests require the support of exceptional international dispute resolution expertise," said Squire Sanders Chairman R. Thomas Stanton. "Pedro, Ryan and Roderick join a fast-growing IDR practice that has rapidly developed a global reputation for excellent legal counsel in some of the most challenging arbitrations." Led by George M. von Mehren, the firm's practice was named among the top IDR firms in the world in a recent survey by The American Lawyer.

"International business disputes are on the rise, driven by a combination of increasing cross-border investment, renationalization and growing numbers of bilateral investment treaties. This creates significant challenges for our clients," said von Mehren. "This is particularly true in evolving markets such as Latin America, where Squire Sanders is one of the few US firms with established on-the-ground resources."

"Our new partners have represented dozens of clients in myriad complex disputes in key arbitration centers and courts around the globe," von Mehren said. "Pedro and Ryan bring additional expertise for our clients involved with pending and anticipated legal matters in Latin America and support for the firm's strong litigation practice in Florida. Rod has years of experience in litigation and arbitration in London, one of the world's most important arbitration centers. We are very pleased to welcome them as the firm continues to develop this essential practice." Squire Sanders recently announced that well-known arbitration and litigation lawyers Richard L. Mattiaccio, Steven Skulnik and Victor Genecin had joined the New York office.

Martinez-Fraga and Reetz said Squire Sanders' Latin America presence and the opportunity to help create a world-class practice were major factors for their move. "Squire Sanders is on the forefront of US firms in Latin America, an important area for international dispute resolution, and the firm has experience in some of the world's most significant arbitrations and treaty disputes," Martinez-Fraga noted. Two associate lawyers, Leah B. Storie and Daniel Vielleville, have also joined Squire Sanders from Greenberg Traurig.

Cowper said he looks forward to assisting the London office with its own ambitious growth campaign. In 2006, Squire Sanders doubled the size of its London office and expects that expansion to continue.</News:newsheading>
